TheBlueSaint wrote:Hi folks,
Going to Florida next June.
We're spending 2 nights on I-Drive at the beginning and 3 at the end. We're not interested in Disney as we plan to come back in the future with some younger family but at the moment it's 6 adults.
Looking mostly at Universal as we want to do some shopping :T
What's the best ticket to buy?
if you are not interested in disney, then you could get the 4 or 5 park orlando flex ticket. The 4 park ticket covers 2 weeks unlimited access to Universal Studio's & Islands of Adventure, Sea World & Wet n Wild. The 5 park ticket is the same as the 4 park one with the addition on Busch Gardens in Tampa.
you should get them from orlandoticketdeals.com
we are going for 3 weeks in October and have got 21 day disney tickets & 4 park flex tickets!!0 -
JAJ wrote:Thanks Poppy 9 We have been to Euro Disney a few times do you think a couple of days in Disney would be enough in Florida ?
Also has anyone done Busch Gdns? would that be okay for an 8 & 4 year old?
I would say you will probably need a day for each park as the younger child will find it very tiring and the parks are huge and first time it will probably take you a full day to see 70% of one park.
Busch Gardens is fab. Very relaxing, lovely animals, super ice-cream bit of a drive though.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Hello
I have been reading a few pages in this thread but there is just too much to take in.
I looked for a Go Orlando Card as I think it looks good value and one of the best deals on the net is from http://www.onlineflorida.co.uk/ProductView.aspx?PIV=6 as it offers 2 nights free dinner shows instead of one and for the 3 day pass it is £79 instead of the average price of £88 found elsewhere.
Has anyone else used these cards and are they as good value as they make out?0 -
hey folks
does anyone know the dates of when the american kids are off school? friend of mine is looking to book a fortnight in florida and wants to go when the parks are quieter because her kids hate queuing (who doesnt:rolleyes:)

I just spotted on the US costco website that their members (which includes UK members) get big discounts on car rental. That is, at least if you say you are US resident.
http://www.costco.com/Common/Category.aspx?cat=1137&eCat=BC|1133|1137&whse=&topnav=&hierPath=1133*1137*4944*
The rates from Budget seem best. I followed the links on the costco website and got a quote of $334 for an intermediate car for 2 weeks in Feb 2007. That's £185. But if you tell it you are UK resident, it quotes £254, which is about the same as Airline Network.
Does anyone know if there's a way to get the US resident rate without being US resident?koru0 -

I think that I can put your mind at rest on this one. When an American hires a cra, their own car insurance covers the hire car, for us it has to be added on. If you do a serach on a few sites (herts, avis, national etc) and change the nationality from American to British, you will see what I mean.

If you google cdw insurance there are a few companies which provide it here so you can decline the insurance from the rental car company. http://www.insurance4carhire.com/ is one of them and the cover is £99 for hire car coverage in the US. Amex also cover you on their Annual Multi-trip Premier Plus Worldwide Cover.0
