Toyota they run and run.
And run and run, but do they stop ? :rotfl:
What about a Peugeot 207 or Renault Clio?
Both available in diesel.
Do you live near a motor auction? Good bargains there usually.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I have an MG, don't do it! whilst its cool in the summer having a convertible, aside from the head gasket problems and overall poor reliability, you don't want to find yourself having to scrape the inside of the windscreen in the winter and leaking door seals in the rain!
I had wanted one for years and the purchase is one of my biggest "heart over head" mistakes! Im stuck with it as it has no resale value hence the sale price you have seen.
Good luck with the search.0 -
Oooh dear Wheels1
that doesn't sound good.
Saying that....my Corsa freezes up on the inside too.
The one I'm looking at isn't a convertible but I guess that's irrelevent.
Keep the advice coming peeps. :T0 -
lol guess it's a matter of opinion but to me a Getz looks and feels like an OAP Sunday Driver Special where an MG appears....not to. :rotfl:0

Hello peeps
My poor little P reg Corsa is on it's last legs and I need to sort out a new motor pronto.
Don't want any debt so I'm gonna use my savings (£3,000).
Hi there,
How knackered is your Corsa? How much would it cost to get it running good again? £3000 might get you a nice car, but how quickly will it depreciate? Also, there's no guarantee that a 3 grand car will cost any less to maintain than your old Corsa....
For example, you spend £3000 on a newer car, drive it for 2 years and sell it for say £2000. You've lost a grand, assuming it needs no work. What if £500 of fettling would see you 2 years more motoring in your Corsa? Even if your Corsa is worth nothing at the end of it you are still better off...
It may not seems sensible spending money on an old car, but you ought to look at the bigger picture!
If it were me, I'd keep the Corsa going unless the maths didn't stack up.Skip dipper and proud....0 -
Hi Flearoy
Well, perhaps it's not 'last legs' but I just worry it's getting on a bit and one day I will be left car-less.
Current problems:
Strong smell of petrol on the outside - O/H changed the spark plugs but still smells of petrol.
Feels a bit 'chuggy', bit rougher to drive than usual.
Got in it this morning - heating has packed up (temperature gauge is normal)0 -
:rotfl:Oh and the spare has got a nail in it0
-
Oh (probably biggest problem) O/H warns it needs new CAM belt?0
