    Help please!

One of my customers is asking about a 'clearskin cleanser with little beads in it'......does it ring a bell with anyone as I can't remember it?

At a guess - it could be old clearskin invigorating cleansing scrub (or something to that effort!) it was in white packaging with the writing on in blue - I have some at home, got them out of the clearance last year. There should be one similar in the new range they have launched, either in the teenage range, or the "adult" range (the one in the grey packaging), I have a customer with a teenage daughter, in her late teens, and she always buys the clearskin scrub cleanser in the grey packaging, as well as the toning pads, and there is never a sign of any spots on her daughter!

  • Lucyclare your party sounds like a great success, I think this is an avenue I might explore. I would love to hear how you went about it. Did you hold the party at your house, did you provide drinks/nibbles, who did you invite and how many?
    You are an inspiration!

MC, so sorry to hear that the party did not quite go to plan as you expected, but you did really well in making £178 in products! I bet if I had a party I wouldn't sell half as much or even anything to make it worth my while.

Still think you did really well though.

Thanks everyone - am still catching up with the thread but couldn't resist 'butting in'.... Pretty sure I actually made a loss on the night being that the lady helping me (my SL  ) apparently wasn't au fait with prices and, I think, sold two Black Suede After Shaves for £5! I'd priced up all the clearance stuff but seeing as how that was current stock I didn't bother (was trying to sell them as a set of 4 for £10 - the guy didn't want all 4, held up 2 after-shaves at which point I said Oh, OK, those are a fiver - of course, meaning £5 each.... Doh!) Seem to have lost a Wilderness Set too! Whilst I didn't keep a note of exactly what I took, I spent hours/days/weeks (!) concentrating on what stock I had so have a good idea of what was 'sold'.

Have finally finished doing all my returns (had one customer, who also wanted a w/e bag in time for easter - my delivery's not due until after, so that meant an additional order too.....) and paid my bill. As 'luck' would have it, doing the additional order meant some of my returns were collected pdq - the driver actually queried why I was sending 4 boxes back! (Do they have a vested interest?) When I mentioned the party that hadn't gone well, he commented something along the lines of "Hmm... you and everyone else..." C'est la vie! :D

Facebook - I am Debs Curtis, Bristol Network. Just tell me your user name if you add me.

Its my turn to rant now! Am now on my 3rd Campaign but for my 2nd i ventured out and did one of my streets. I hjad 5 orders which i was pleased about. Last week once i had placed to order i took some notes round to the customers with the amount and day i would be round and my number if they had special insructions! One lady texted to say when she would be in so that was good. This morning i went out with 5 orders, first house out, 2nd house had £30 for a £21.75 order and i didnt have enough change, the other 2 were out. Go back tonight, completed 2, left a note through 1 which she called me as soon as i got back in the door, 1 answered the door and said she had forgotten and to come back thursday when she gets some money and the other one the little kid answered and said his mum was at work, come back tomorrow!

I am starting to get the feeling its gonna be easier doing F&F!!!!!

    RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Hmm.... empathise with you, I was out from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. trying to do my deliveries last campaign and still had some over (am also still trying to deliver something from 2 campaigns ago!) Some customers are happy to 'share' with you when's best for them; others are happy to pay with order and/or leave cash/cheque somewhere and some customers I deal with by email i.e. once their order's here I wait for their 'instructions'. All in all makes for a lot of effort and am wondering whether to adopt the Betterware system of notifying customers that their order's arrived and giving them an allotted day/time when I'm going to deliver. Anyone else do that?

the party tonight was a huge success, over £300 orders for C7 which now takes me up to

    £924.90

Not all of the commission is mine i should stress, i gave some to the hostess as part of the party deal. some is non commission charity goods and some oasis bangle watches.

    I did a raffle which i made £11 profit from :)
Got a party booking for 20 April 2010.

all the same customers, but it saves me dropping books for them :) and only one delivery point with payment ready for me :)

    Hiya all,
I think I may have made a bit of a booboo's with my first delivery!! DOH!
It didnt occur to me since I gave my work details to my ASM (Which is where my deliveries will go to as I am not home during the week). Having checked my account online, theres no sign of my work address!! I have added the work address as delivery address today, and emailed my ASM to see if I am to late for the details to be changed, but if they try and deliver but cant, what will happen? Will I get charged?
    Thanks xx

Really not sure but the carriers so far in my experience have been really good. Could me worth giving them a call? They track your order from your account no but whether they're able/willing to change the delivery address, I've really no idea, sorry.

    Good luck.

The courier....., if there is another rep in the area, may leave your order there.

Really? Would they leave an order with another rep?

And included in my returns this time .... surprise, surprise .... two gyroscopic balls! Ordered 3, and 2 are going back bcos customers can't get them to work! What a shock.

And no, I didn't offer to demo!!!!!

Maybe you should have? Now I've got the hang of how to do it, I think they're great. Having said that, I also sent one back this time but I did offer to show my customer where she was going wrong. She declined and 'swopped' it for some shower gels!

Incidentally, at the debacle (aka ladies night/party) last week I did try and get a few ladies to try it out; one lady ordered one but was actually suspicious at how cheap they were..... She told me that Argos are selling them (apparently with some flashing light system) for £20! I blagged my way through saying that the fitness regime was relatively new to Avon so they were keeping that range simple and 'economically priced'! ;)

I think with territory you do need to perserve, I tell my customers the day and time ie this Friday between 11-2 and give them my home number, mobile and email addy if the day/time isn't convenient. To start with some customers messed me around, however if they aren't in when I go round, they get a polite note saying something along the lines of sorry I missed you, called to deliver your order pleasse contact me to arrange delivery. I then always leave it about a week, if I haven't heard back I'll send them a text if I have a mobile number or ring them to see if they want their order still. Anyone who doesn't give me their number, I'll call round once more if no answer them they get a note advising them I'll return their order if I haven't heard from them by x date as I'll assume they don't want it anymore. Now most of my customers let me know if they aren't going to be in, and those that I miss contact me within a few days as they know I won't keep popping round on the off chance they are in. Keep at it you can train your customers lol!

Hi So I took the plunge and signed up to become a Rep tonight.

Am a little worried its all going to be a waste of time but have promised myself I'll give it 3 months and see how it goes.

    A few questons

I work full time and unfortunately where my house is there is nowhere secure to leave my deliveries:( How do others get round this? My SL said she would see if its possible to deliver them to another Rep in my village but I'm worried she was jsut saying that to get me to sign up.

Also when you deliver your items to your customers what do you deliver them in?

Very worried this could be a lot of effort (on top of a full time job) for very little back. Also I seem to have been given a very large area 343 homes but I'm guessing I can just start with a few streets and build my way up
Turning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!
