Help! I am in need of serious confidence boost. Just starting camp 3 and to be honest I got off to a good start with first 2 camps - hit HOV both times.
When I signed up I only intended to do F & F, but after joining here I decided I should be brave and venture out into the village (I was given permission). I set off on Friday with 25 books (couldn't believe how nervous I was) and delivered them all. I really had to push myself to do this, I have so little self confidence.
Today got off to a great start - order arrived - order sorted-then the dreaded collection of books. Forced myself to knock when necessary-end result 12 books back, no orders, 6 requests not to bother coming back.
I know we should expect knockbacks, but I found the whole experience so nerve wracking, and the way some people look at you is beyond belief!
I really want to succeed and grow my business but the face to face side is soooo hard. Having a order date in the middle of the Easter holidays doesn't help this time. In urgent need of encouragement!0 -

ahh that's rotten. They used to send out anniversary and birthday gifts.
There is an Avon thread on the forums somewhere, where they post free delivery codes and gitches, let me see if I still have the link.0 -

Ok, here is my story. My first order £0, my second order £36, my third order £84.
See you did better than me in your first 2 campaigns! And don't worry about the way people look at you. It means nothing.
And don't worry, those who gave you the books back :T, may want to order next time, want to check if you are going to come back again... are going to be a regular sight around the village, etc.
Good to get some of your books back, at least you can give them out to someone else.
We've all been where you are now, and the diehards of us are still going strong. and if you read Johanne's posts, she is doing really well.
Do you feel better now? Are you feeling more confident? Keep writing on here, we will boost your confidence.xx

Thanks for that aureol. I think I need a good night's sleep and need to stop dwelling on it. I was having such a positive day until that point, but rest assurred I am not giving in. Tomorrow's another day so I will prep books that I got back and try another street in the village. I will also go and try to retrieve the missing books (bites fingernails) and who knows what could happen, I might come across a friendly person that smiles! I will keep you posted.

Hey honey, I think that aureole is right. I am on my third order and i keep putting in books to ALL houses unless they ask me not to.
I have been picking up new customers every campaign. Some areas have had reps stop doing avon on a regular basis. Some do like to see that you are going to see it through and hang on in there.
If you dont like knocking on doors, get some of the calling cards from HT and leave them instead. The ones that dont want another book, hey ho, your books will go further and you will cover more houses that are more likely to order from you in further campaigns.
my orders have gone up consistently and my third will be the highest yet. These people dont know you yet, and they tend to spend more and more often when they do get to know you.
say hello to those you pass on the street. comment about the weather and stuff, keep it light.
Before you know it, you will be skipping up and and down your streets. Ask your asm if you have any 'red' streets and focus on them first to give you the boost you need. Red streets are marked this way as they are prime selling land.
In my experience, council houses spend more. not a class thing, just the way it is. for this reason, i focus on them first, then do the rest.
maybe offer a small gift with orders over a certain spend. I did that on my second order. It cost me £14 in total. As soon as the clearance items come down to 50p i order a shed load of them and use them. for customers spending over £30 i get something for a pound or so.
some of the other reps put a sample in their books for them to try, ive not done that yet, but i do put samples in their deliveries, to say thanks.
i try to get the fragrance samples or clearance lipstick ones. That way, they know that you appreciate their business. Those that do want to order are more likely to leave their books out for you.
Keep at it, come back on here and ask away.
Aureole is dead right. it comes good in the end, the tunnel is longer for some than others, but the light is always on at the end.
I do like your idea of a slip to mark their address on if they dont want any future books though. :T:T wealth is a state of mind :T0
