Any Avon Lady who just shoves a book through my door will not get an order, no matter how nice her little notes are.
Its all well and good having hints and tips to pass around however you also need customer feedback.
I would buy £25 every time from the lady who can be bothered to say "Hello, my name is **** and I am your Avon Lady. I will try to answer as many of your queries and questions as I can" etc. What is so hard about that?
A book through the door says to me, "She can't be bothered with who's ordering. She just wants the order. Money minded doesn't give the best service"
I therefore prefer to drop brochures so that I am not inconveniencing people at an awkward time. Also I hope that people who don't think of themselves as 'Avon people' might at least take the time to browse whereas they probably wouldn't take the time to talk on the doorstep.
Those who have wanted to talk to their 'Avon Lady' haven't put their book out so that when I call to collect the brochure they will be able to catch me then.
On my 2nd campaign and so far have nearly £500 of sales so it seems to be working for me.C5 £202; C6£541 :j; C7 £502; C8 £379; C9 £379
"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man." - George Bernard Shaw0 -
When i first started i knocked on every door and introduced myself, those who werent in got a book and when i went to collect, i knocked again. I also but a note on the order form saying 'hello, would you like to receive the next avon brochure?' that way i could tell either way from those people who werent in.
It is hard to get round everyone with a child and it does put you off knocking after the first 20+ rude people but i still try to do it and recommend it to any rep i sign. Not only for the sake of being polite but also so people know you as the 'avon lady/man' AND to save your books.
I had one rep recently who hadnt knocked on any doors and unsurprisingly hadnt got any books back so hadnt done half her territory. Its even more important to knock in an area who had a previous rep to save confusion and show them youre new and you are reliable!
I understand people that don knock but i personally prefer it, plus one of the reasons i started avon was to meet people. Afew new streets have opened up/finished being built so im going to recanvass my territory next camp and aim to knock on every door

The Avon website is confuuusing me
I've tried to deliver an order to a customer for aaaages now and she just blatantly wont answer the door to me. So now I've done the credits thing, but I need to pay for all the other orders.. but where i've done the credits the account balance hasn't updated? How do i know how much to pay if it's still telling me to pay for the customers products that I've asked to return?
I do apologise if that didn't make sense whatsoever.
Thanks0 -
Don't worry, it will take a while for it to update your credit, I usually find mine get credited on the change-over from one campaign to the next. Just under pay your account by the amount of your credits (make a note when you've submitted the credits, it tells you how much), then when you go into the next campaign it should sort itself out.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Hi pinkpig, not at all! I don't mind that is, feel free to PM me.
Gloversgirl, anytime - if you work Saturdays, and are free during the week, go in the morning or afternoon.
With evenings I would leave it until after 7pm, because of people having their tea and stuff but not while it is dark.. maybe in summer when lighter evenings.
And on Sundays - round here - wouldn't dare until after 12pm!0 -

Unfortunately.. I didn't think to write down how much it said.. do you know how to find out how much credits it'll be? I feel stupid now for not writing it down :rotfl:0
