just after some advice as i am now worrying a bit!! i have signed up to be a rep, sales leader has been round, given me books for the current and previous campaign. i am now just waiting to hear on where my territory is and get my account number and stuff.. i already have friends and family asking for a brochure :-) but i wont give any of them a brochure yet as i have bad credit as i have had loans etc in the back i have struggled to pay... and so is it likely that avon wont let me be a rep. Its made me feel really down as i was all excited about starting this as even if i only earnt a few quid, it would really help.started as independant avon rep...june 29th..... campaign 12......fingers crossed0

We're in agreement here, I'm just saying don't miss submission day or your order may have 'vanished', to people who start keying it in very early.
Oh, quick query pls.... don't think it's actually relevant for anyone on my team but will double-check..... when a rep first signs up and is put on the next campaign rather than the current one, i.e. to have more time to get their first orders in, does the 21 day rule still apply? Surely, Avon realise this may happen from time to time and wouldn't wipe out a newbie's first order just because they started to submit it early?
Although, 'thinking aloud' here, you can't start to input your order until your current campaign, so provided you submit your order on time then you're obviously bound to be within 21 days anyway!'Panic' over..... Rather than delete this though, will leave it - may be useful to someone and/or really useful to me if I'm wrong!

I'm sure I would find it depressing to work it out per hour, but I average around £25 per week throughout the year. If I had to guess, then I'd say £4 or £5 per hour.
Really? Am obviously doing something wrong! :rotfl: Actually wouldn't even waste the time to try and quantify my hourly rate but a quick 'guesstimate' would definitely be in pence rather than £s! (Of course, it would help if I could resist the bargains myself.)

You're very welcome. I pass the word soooo much about this thread; it's been a great help to me. (I've been a bit busy this week so hence all my posts now as I like to read everything since I last logged on.)

Hi all, hope everyones enjoying the sunshine!!!!
Just wanted to check, can we post ads online like Gumtree and freeads advertising our "service"?
Ive had a business head on all day and my head is swimming with ideas, just googled avon reps in .......... and not one reps contact details came up which i found odd!!!
also just ordered cards, stamps and stickers so I feel all business like today haha, honestly you've never seen a woman get so excited over a rubber stamp in all your life
Thanks MC im feeling much more positive now
Also one last question (for now anyway) can we pop into businesses and ask them e.g shops, hairdressers, libraries or would that be classed as poaching as its not on my patch?0 -

Chin up loolaray and come on, get positive. Avon actually work on a 'points system' first (you score points just for having a bank account - any bank account - and being at the same address for 3+ years, etc., etc., etc.) and only if you don't reach a certain level of points do they then run a credit check on you.
Get your books out to your F&F and assume that you WILL be approved. If you're really serious about wanting to do Avon then your SL will do everything she can to make sure you're approved. Trust me!(If she doesn't then PM me and I'll see if I can help in any way.)
And.... IF the worst actually came to the worst and you weren't approved then you could always pass the orders you get from your F&F on to your SL and come to some arrangement with her/him re. splitting the commission. So what have you got to lose????

thankyou!! i have actually prepped my books, wrote out a little message for each one and done slips to choose an option of if they want to keep gettin a brochure or if they dont want one etc.... i'm prepped and ready to go!!! feelin more positive now!!!!started as independant avon rep...june 29th..... campaign 12......fingers crossed0 -
Aureol, if she is booked into 11, then she can still choose from 10 or 11 as we can back order, but not forward order.
Although, I suspect that sneaky ASM put her into 10 and said nothing. So she missed her first order and now is putting in her loa2 order, hence the samples pack.
thanks lucyclare, i did start out on 11. Does this actually make any difference to me or does it just really affect my smartstart if i get to £1500?0 -

Hi again GP,
Glad I helped in some small way.
Got to be honest, am not sure about Gumtree (actually don't know what it is anyway....) and advertising but Avon have restrictions on using their copyrighted name, images etc. so it may mean that's a No No. Hopefully someone more experienced than me will come along with a definitive reply for you.
As for businesses, the streets they are on will be allocated as territory to someone (if there's a rep nearby that agreed to cover it, of course) but if you know someone in the business then, again, you can sell to anyone you know as they form part of your F&F. Equally, if you get a referral from someone you know e.g. your friend Pat asked you to drop a book off for her friend Julie, who works at so-and-so and has been wanting to see an Avon book for ages, then F&F also extends to cover that too. (Well, it does in my book; sure if I'm wrong someone will be along shortly to keep us both on the straight and narrow!)
Keep that grey matter going and well done!
Rgds,
MC
PS: Sometimes a good earner can be approaching a friend with a favourite charity/club and offering them 10% commission on any/all orders i.e. to be given to the charity/club. OK you're giving some of your commission away but it opens the gates to all their local supporters and, of course, all their F&F.:jMake the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Good for you! Well done.
Go get 'em - it's a lovely evening for a walk anyway so a bit of exercise with the potential to make some new friends and earn a bit of dosh along the way...... win/win situation.
Good luck! Enjoy it and think of it more like you're sharing the bargains you've found rather than trying to sell something and make money out of someone. You don't have to be a sales(wo)man; Avon literally sells itself. All you have to do is find the people, who are interested in what Avon has to offer. You'd be surprised at how many people have no idea about Avon's returns policy - am guessing that's because some reps don't want the hassle of doing returns. You're a 'mobile M&S'; buy it, try it and if you don't like it you get your money back..... how can any rep fail with such a policy?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)
