thank you so much ladies! It does mean I am going to have to be really organised now! with avon and housework and everything, no getting away with things like I have been....
Don't forget, you're not the only adult in the house - when you start work it's a perfect time to re-assess who does what around the home. You can't be expected to do everything you do now and a job as well. Do yourself and your DH a favour, don't even attempt to try!Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

I didn't even think about credit rating when I signed up..........I was declared bankrupt in 2008. I do have a credit card now and I have just placed my order and didn't even have problem with credit limit. My £420 order sailed through.
I'm not sure how it works but I didn't have a problem.0 -
Hi MarsdenCuckoo,
Thanks for your reply. A dmp is a debt management plan. I got behind with some payments to my creditors because of a huge reduction in income. CCCS is the consumer credit counselling service - a charity which has helped organise the dmp.
Thanks, hayston; am learning all the time. Hopefully there's some light at the end of your tunnel and well done you for doing something pro-active about sorting your situation out rather than ignoring it.
Good luck.
PS: You may find that you live near a Sales Leader that contributes to this thread i.e. if you fancy posting up the start of your postcode or what area you're in (approx.) then maybe you could get started more quickly than you expected!Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Hi,
I thought I should let you know that I've decided to take the plunge and join as an Avon Representative! The lovely SL came round this morning to tell me all about it
Now... several hours later I'm starting to panic (if you're reading this SL, its only a minor panic)
My OH is being a bit negative not in a nasty way just in a "well I'm not sure it will work way". Which only makes me want to prove to him that it will work!! (it will won't it ladies?) I'm not joining until the next campaign due to other commitments so have plenty of time to plan my strategy and read through the catalogue. I suppose I'm worried I won't get any orders at all I just hope the people in the streets close to where I live are all nice to me.0 -
Hi inaminute - I've got the same worries as you. Did my first brochure drop yesterday and keep worrying that no one will buy anything
! Already got £58 from friends though so hopefully I'll be ok.
Good luck with it - I'm sure you'll do really wellOct GC: £144.07/£2000 -

Hi inaminute, just wanted to reassure you as I had exactly the same reservations about not getting any orders. My first campaign I barely hit MOV but didn't have much time to get all of my books out before my order had to be in. My second campaign I got £234 of orders (meaning just over £50 commission) and this time I've got just over £200 and still got a couple more books to collect in tonight so again I've got just over £50 commission. My DH was very reserved about it too as I have previously tried usborne books which was a complete disaster and put it like this - I still have 2 boxes off books upstairs!! Now my DH has seen that I'm making a fair amount of money (ok it's not millions!) he seems to be more supportive! So I say go for it and prove your DH wrong lol!!Proud wife to a soldier and mummy to two gorgeous boysDealing with our Debt Barclaycard £2022.98 RBS £1249.86 Next £183.03September Groceries £120/£102.05:( September Packed Lunches 22/6Sealed Pot Challenge #9940 -

Lol not panickingDon't worry about your oh - he'll come round I'm sure - just remind him it isn't costing you anything to try, so you may as well give it a go else you'll never know! As I mentioned we tried Kleeneze, and no it didn't work for us (we ended up selling the books on ebay to get back some of the money - but we gave it a go, if not we would have always wondered).
You might find when it comes round to it that he'll be more help, lots of people manage to rope their oh into helping them deliver orders etc, sometimes a bit of bribery helps lol:pAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
