OH MC! Hope you are ok! That is awful getting trapped and unsure of how to get out again!
Hi, aureol, yes AOK here thanks. Am not a natural panicker but... arranged to do a delivery (2nd visit) at an appointed time (but I was slightly late - as ever) to a flat. D/s entry door needs a key to both lock/unlock from either side, which she'd mentioned to me before. When I got there, the entrance door was open (thought my customer had left it open for me i.e. because she was expecting me) so I went in and closed it behind me. Walked up the steps thinking, oooh hope she's actually in otherwise I won't be able to get out........ She wasn't in and I was stuck. Wasn't a case of unsure how to get out, it was impossible to get out!! Pretty sure there must be some Health and Safety issues involved i.e. re. a rented flat. Only had her landline, which was obviously useless to me as she wasn't in and no-one knew I'd intended to call on her anyway...... Scarey sometimes what situations we put ourselves in, eh?
Got to admit, was deffo one of those moments when you think 'why the Hell do I do Avon?':(Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Put loads of stock on ebay for really reasonable prices 8 days ago but had no bids and no watchers even!
Really wondering best way to get rid now... hmmm.
Can't you just send it back? Realise you'll lose your award sales but you never know, depending on your past orders, you may find it beneficial/better than having to pay for it yourself?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

I've just stupidly realised I have a doctor's appt around lunchtime and my (first!) Avon delivery is due today. If I put a note on my door, do you think the driver will leave it (my entrance is hidden from the road, but not technically "secure") - he could also leave it inside the entrance hall of the main building (my flat's like an annex on the side) but I haven't seen any neighbours this morning to ask if they will open the door - but I could just chance it as there's 85% bound to be someone home out of 8 other flats.
eta: just read that they will leave it with another nearby rep if worse comes to worse. Sorry for the temporary panic!(I'm so excited, actually, I may have ordered a few treats for myself.
I also need to collect my first batch of 20 C11 brochures today so I'm realllly hoping for some orders. Everyone likes the word "clearance", right?top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

After a bit of a 'downer' the other week with AVON I am feeling more positive now.
C10 was rubbish for me and only just achieved HOV (my normal sales are £250+ so £178 was rubbish) don't think it was helped with me going on holiday so wasn't able to drop as many books as I was wanting.
C11 is looking good so far - got £268 sales so far from my 'regulars' and have prepped 65 books to drop tomorrow to collect on Monday.
I have even prepped my C12 books! - how organised is that!
Also can I say a huge thanks to you all on here - you have all been an inspiration and I have picked up loads of great advice. :-)0 -
Yes you can try leaving a sign giving your permission, if they won't leave it they'll leave you a card for you to rearrange delivery, they know they have to deliver it at some point so you don't let your customers down.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Why do I always feel motivated to do Avon when I have to go to my normal job? Haha
I'm working 2-9 today, but hoping to get some forms written out when I get in for drops tomorrow, working the same hours again on Friday so I think I'll try and do pick ups on Saturday.
Got an order off my Neighbour for £12, so thats a nice start, really excited to see if I get any orders on my drops. I only have 20 C11 brochures, and I have territory of 100 houses atm. ASM promised to drop me more brochures off as I'm only on my second campaign, but haven't heard anything off her yet...maybe I should give her a ring, cos I'm not holding out much hope of getting 20 brochures to cover 100 houses!
I really need to sort my printer out. I've not used it in an age, I found it much easier just using the one at uni to print off assignments, but making the 20 mile round trip to Uni, is probably not worth it to print off a few Avon bits and bobs.
Good luck to all the ladies just starting, and to those feeling disheartened I don't blame you sometimes, from the stories I have heard, but theres lots of lovely people here to help you out, they really have made me feel much more motivated! :j0 -
Just canvassed another 35 houses in my new street. It's only round the corner from me but those brochures weigh a ton. I now have very large biceps on one arm. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

2 newbie questions, which I think I know the answer to but thought I'd ask:
- if I want to return a demo product, does it have to be unopened?
- do I have to return the free gift it came with?
I bought accidentally bought 2 concealors for myself and the demo one is more expensive so I'm inclined to send that one back. However, if I can return it opened then I'd like to compare the 2 and then decide!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
