See thats the thing... £7.50 an hour is alot to me! :( Due to my limited experiance and part time work in the area i can only really get minimum wage retail jobs. Which after tax and bus fare works out at roughly £2.70-£3 an hour. So avon on a whole at £4-5 an hour works out a good deal... just fed up of it.

Ignore me... seriously... i have no where else to vent! I know im lucky. just had a bad few weeks.

No Johanne, sorry, I didn't mean to put a downer on you. Vent away here! We are here to listen, :) I know you are having a real hard time at the moment. You work so damn hard, that I can fully understand sometimes you would like life to be a little easier so you could enjoy it. Wish I could offer you a holiday....

The only problem with earning £7.50 per hour, is I live in London, I refused to work for this company 5 days a week on this amount of money, as more than 3/4 of my wages would go to my childminder. After paying my childminder and bus fares for 1 month, I am left with the princely sum of £25 per week to live off.

I could probably earn £100 a month, maybe more if I concentrated on Avon full time but that is not fair on my DS, as I don't have family to look after him while I do Avon, hence why I went to paid work.

But the job is getting me so down, was ready to hand in my resignation today.

I'm thinking about offering a discount to my customers if they get me orders from their freinds/family.

Has anybody done this? What wording to I use? Everything I come up with sounds silly!

I tend to offer a 'free gift' for introducing a new customer so you can then figure out what to give based on the new customer's order. I did it as a book mark with a bit of parcel ribbon attached to make it stand out. Not sure if it actually worked though. My free gift to the highest orderer in my current campaign seems to work better (do tend to give a few... ;) ) but a new customer (I got via doing Betterware) loves getting a bottle of wine and seeing as she tends to order £50 at a time then it works for us..... :rotfl:

Thanks Elliebee - yes I think that's probably what would happen, all the free gift would be used up by demonstrating so therefore nothing to send back! Thanks for your help x

Pretty sure it was mentioned earlier in the thread that you could return any of Lotus Shield Money Makers and keep the freebies.

    Avoners,

A bit of advice please. I've quit but i'm doing one last order as 2 F&F asked for things. Those 2 orders are nearly £50, which is under mov so no commison, but if i reach mov (78?) i'd get commison? so was going to order stuff for home use, shampoo, shower gels etc.

Thing is, ii have returns to do- as i have been unable to reach certain customers. does this mean i wont have 78 in sales at all, and wont earn commison? If so, is there another way?

    THanks very much

Does anyone else get calls from Avon's 0845 number at all hours of the day? They hang up every time you answer, then ring again 2 minutes later

It's a premium rate number too, so I'm certainly not calling them back!

I'm more than a little annoyed, and I'd rather quit Avon altogether if they keep it up.

Not sure what sort of no. it is but, yes, occasionally you'll get calls encouraging you to take up the MM offers. As far as I know this is some sort of agency working on commission so don't feel obliged in any way to take up the offer if you don't want to. Chances are you'll already have read about it in HT so will already have taken up the offer if you wanted to.

Well I really like the ones from Avon and they are cheaper than in the shops. They are 80p I think for 50 and they have Avon printed on them. HTH x

Haven't actually ordered the new Avon ones yet (the last ones were a totally waste of time although do admit that having Avon printed on them made it look more professional). Am still using up the ones I stocked up with from the Pound Shop; they're bigger and actually if you only have a few small products ordered then you can slip the order inside the see through bag too rather than use an Avon paper bag. Saves fractions of pennies but still...... (Does make prepping your orders quicker too! ;) )

    Hi JJ

you will be credited for the goods that you have to return, which means you deduct this amount from you final bill to Avon, so you will only pay the actual amount due, not the one shown on your screen. I don't know what happens if you overpay, how they give you the money back.

So the answer is you will earn commission as long as you have a minimum of £78 in sales. Just the final amount you will have to pay will be less than you initially think.

    Does this make sense?

I ordered the new ones and am really liking them. So much that when I give my customer's their order in one, insist they leave their book out in the same bag for me to collect!

    Hey all,

Am just putting together my introduction letter to put with my first round of brochures and was thinking about adding the following tick boxes to the bottom. Can I get some feedback from you guys as to whether this is a good or bad idea please.

    Thanks in advance :D

Yes I have placed an order, please call and let me
know the exact date you will be delivering my order
    Customer phone no: ____________________

I have not made an order this time but I would like
to see the brochure for the next Avon campaign

Please don’t deliver the next campaign to me

    Well done you for asking.

I'd say the less words the better.

    I've put out very simple:

'Hi, Am a new Avon rep and wondered if you'd like to look at the latest book?
Please tick the box below if you'd like to receive the next one or not (and of course when I collect the book on .............. I'd be happy to collect any order you may want)'

Included 2 'ticky' boxes (yes/no) and had a selection of people putting the books out but not ticking either box, some not putting the books back out at all of course and.... occasionally, getting someone ticking a box saying 'yes, please let me have the next book' and including an order.:T

    Not easy but good luck.
