She keeps saying 'ALL your husband has to do is sign the forms, you'll do all the legwork.' Ah, but it will also be recorded as his income for tax purposes (that she doesn't think I need to be registered for!)

Making an assumption here that your hubbie is earning above the income tax threshold and that you aren't - if the income is in his name then it will be subject to income tax whereas it wouldn't be if it was in your name.

Also if you develop your sales to a level that make PC achievable then if the sales are split over both your accounts then neither of you will achieve PC.

It all comes down to the way ASM's are targetted for their bonus. They need new sign ups. The more territory they allocate to existing reps the less they have available for new sign ups.

yes Noglet, you are right, but at the same time, us poor Reps trying to get sales out of our territory, are losing out on income as we are not allowed extra territory. :(

Ah well, the glorious world of Avon.

As for not delivering brochures to delapidated houses - deliver everywhere - I had a £50 order from a customer this time whose house is scruffy, and she orders every campaign.

I got one of my orders from a house where my daughter had pushed the brochure through. When I went back I thought it was unoccupied, and first time round no one answered. I tried again and it turned out they'd just bought it, so weren't there all the time, but were doing it up :)

Agree with lozza, I've had some of my best orders from the scruffiest houses - they're obviously on benefits so are in during the day, which is better for me, and they always tend to have their money put aside for you when you deliver.:T

Reverting to the subject of territory, it's worth offering incentives to your existing customers for referrals. I've got quite a few new customers that way - they become F&F so gets over the hurdle of territory even when their street is handed out to a newbie.

    Did you mean ASM?
Yes, did mean ASM? She called over for a cuppa and to use the loo.

Considering setting up a stall at local car boot, instead of selling, set one up for recruiting. Take flyers and stuff, some books and sign up packs as some people do have ID on them.

I know it means an early start, but hey, I dont usually do much else on a Sunday monring, and these people are looking for a bargain, could well be looking for extra income.

Im due an op in June, so I might as well do this during my 'recovery' time as I wont be able to pick up books.

You wrote SMA - and that reminded me of baby formula. :rotfl:

That's a good idea, my local fundraisers often have stalls that we can hire and do recruiting at, was thinking of doing one next time and offering some Avon products as raffle prizes too, to promote and thank the fundraiser for allowing me to recruit there.

I'd take some bits with you to sell as well - then it will get more people to come to your stall, as otherwise some might be interested but walk past, if there's Avon bits for sale they can come to have a look and pick a leaflet up. Plus you could make some leaflets to give people for if they don't have a rep to order from as well as recruiting, then you might get yourself or your team members some customers as they pass the leaflet to a friend. I'm trying this approach this year now I have more reps, if I can get them some customers that would be great.

email Avon and ask for your DSM's details. This is the District Sales Manager who your ASM Reports into.

Without wishing to sound pedantic, the D in DSM stands for Division.
I was thinking about this the other day, if we just keep recruiting reps left right and centre, soon there will be a rep in every bank, every hairdresser, every baby group, every street, who will be left to buy the products?

You'd be right if nobody ever gave up selling Avon, but that isn't the case of course.

Not pedantic at all !!!!!! Here, thanks for letting us know. :)

LoL, I know people give up selling because their circumstances change, no customers, etc, etc.

Just musing out loud....;) and moaning at unfairness of not being able to get more territory because my sales are not high enough. :(
