I have managed to locate electronic copies of books 8 and 9.
Ideal for customers who live further away - Means you only have to make one trip to deliver the order.

Feel free to PM me if anyone wants them!

    Hi there
Great tips everyone and some of your sales are amazing - well done!!!!

Just wondered if anyone has done any charity fundraising through their Avon?? I am doing a walk with my DD for charity and was thinking of putting in with the books a note along the lines of 'During campaigns 10 and 11 10% of all customer orders will be donated to COSMIC' and then a short bit about why we are doing it (and possibly a link to the justgiving site if they want to know more?)

Does this sound like a good idea?? Are there any Avon rules about doing this type of thing? And if anyone has done anything like this any advice about how to word it/a template I could use?
Thanks in advance for any advice and happy avoning!!!

Well done AM. Good luck with your walk. Hmmm.... am wondering whether amending your offer slightly to 5% for the orderer and 5% for the charity may actually nett you more sales? Just a thought.....

Haven't actually done any 'sponsored' charity stuff but some of my customers do their own charity work so I offered them 10% off any order if they quote their charity on the order form. (Actually will just tot up all their F&F orders when they do their next fundraiser and give them a lump sum then.) Did think initially it would encourage them to order but with hindsight I think it just shows them that their Avon rep has a heart...... Pretty sure though that none of them would dream of ordering Avon from another rep! ;)

Good luck again with your walk.

Have had a really strange few days, coming across various instances of pretty severe crises in some of my customers' lives and has given me food for thought:

    * The little old lady, who only places very small orders occasionally but is very talkative when you arrive......... You're probably making her day/week/month just by stopping and chatting to her. Chances are she doesn't need, or even want, what she's ordering but she looks forward to your visit so she orders.

    * People, who are not in when you call and call again and again...... could be going through a traumatic event (this week I've had a customer's partner walking out and taking all the furniture; another customer being made homeless and taking on the most appalling accommodation; someone's partner having a heart attack and, sorry, the most heart-rending of all - a son being buried alive.....)

Am certain we've all had wasted visits to deliver our goods but sometimes we have to realise that 'life' happens outside Avon and when it comes down to it I'd really prefer to have a wasted journey than experience first hand some of what my customers have experienced recently. :(

    (Sorry for the morose post.)

Not morose at all MC, but just thought provoking.

You're right of course, and sometimes if I realise the situation, I'll pop in a very small gift to cheer them up (makes me feel good too and, incidentally, earns brownie points)

For every one of the habitual time wasters (& we all have them!) there is probably another with a genuine reason.

I agree with Elliebee MC, it is thought provoking.

I don't think of it as wasting my time with my customers when they are not in, forget that I am coming, or text me to say they are running late.

I know too many people in my life who daily are going through stressful things in their lives, that I can well believe the same of my customers.

But OMG about the customer's son who was buried alive! The poor lady! What trauma! Ok, I need to stop thinking about it now. :(

Yes you can claim for any costs to do with running your business - which includes the set up fee, free gifts, samples anything else YOU have to pay for in order to run a successful avon business.
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

I found more expired brochures! I really need to sit down and get them prepped and put out - with summer coming up, might be able to get a rep out of them.[/QUOTE]

Morning! Out of interest do you pop them through doors or just knock?
Do you use Avons cards with just your details or your own leaflet?

Doing my first one this bank holiday, have cards ready.

Thanks as always for all your advice on here Aureol x

    Hi Wendy

as I always have my DS with me, I just pop them through the door, or should I say he does!

I have the Avon - this brochure is expired card, I staple it to the front of the book with my contact details.

Haven't found a rep yet, but did find 2 new customers this way :) Am still trying to convince one to become a rep. She said when her oldest DD starts nursery, she might think about it.
