Well have been made permanent in my job but am still struggling money wise, so really need to earn more from somewhere.

My Director today made a suggestion to me that may enable me to recruit more Reps :) and through work, and it is with her agreement! She said I would be helping her if it works and at the same time she would be helping me. So maybe there is hope yet!

Woo hoo!!! Congratulations thats brilliant, well done you xx

... And you've found somewhere which ENCOURAGES you go recruit reps and get more orders at work?? Why can't we all have employers like that!!!!

    Hi people,

I have done my first two drop offs for C8, but on the second lot of collections, one street had thrown away 12 of my brochures! So now I am only left with 18 out of my original 30. Knockec on the doors, but was just told it was thrown away!! and I put a polite notice on the bags asking for them not to be thrown way.

I don't think I am going to have enough to complete my territory this campaign, any idea on what i can do??

I do have 4 orders though totalling £50.00, so am smiling about that.

I went on my free HMRC - Becoming Self Employed course today. Was quite interesting and am now a lot clearer on what i can claim for.

Just one thing with regards to the record keeping - has anyone got a copy (dont want your info) but just on how you lay it out to keep track of everything? i did some on excel but seem to have far too many sheets!!!

Hurrah, got someone to sign up tomorrow morning :D

And got some vacant territory of an asm to deliver expired brochures to on Thursday morning before work, so you never know might get someone else - and if not at least the conservatory will be a bit tidier lol!

My area sales rep is coming round on Wednesday to show me how to do my first internet order and give me my account number. So I'm just deciding which samples to buy.

Which ones do you think give you the best value for money?

I always tell my reps to avoid buying samples to start with - you'll be paying for brochures as well as having the £7.50 admin charge on your first 2 campaigns which will be reducing your earnings enough - plus avon will send you some samples anyway. Unless my customers request samples, I buy them when they are on offer to make it cheaper - half price, buy 1 get one free etc. The skin care & fragrance are good items to promote - if you can get people ordering them then it has more than paid back the amount you spent on samples, but judge from your customers how much they can spend - no point buying samples for the expensive fragrances, if they would only ever spend £6 on a perfume.

    Hi, hope someone can help...

I've been trying to decide whether to carry on with Avon, I'm only doing friends and family and generally get between £78-100 of orders, best has been about £200. I tend to make about £10 each campaign, plus a few freebies and for this, I'm spending 30 mins creating labels to stick on order forms, 60 mins doing the order (by the time I've checked through them and checked if there are any freebies etc I can order) and about 60-90mins (by the time I've got everything cleared up), sorting the order, therefore about 3 hrs work for £10 and some freebies!

I have enjoyed doing it until now (probably 2-3 years now), but with baby no. 2 due in 2 months, I think it would be one thing less to worry about.

I definitely want a break after the next 2 campaigns, but how will this work? Will it matter as I'm just doing friends and family? I'm sure I read somewhere that if you didn't order books Avon would send you some anyway and charge you more...

What if I want to start again after a couple of months, or a year, or decide not to bother anymore?

I know I could do more to make more money from it, but I just haven't got the energy and motivation at the moment.

    Any advice gratefully received.

    Thanks!

The way i understood it when i signed up is that after 8 campaigns of not ordered your are taken off, so you can in effect have 7 campaigns off and then start re-ordering again on the 8th. Sure someone will correct me if im wrong!
