No - so long as they are genuine products. I would hope no-one would report me for selling at carboots, or anyone who does parties and sells at the time, as strictly we can't do any of those, we have to leave it 24 hours. So long as it isn't imatation items then I don't see the problem x
In the info I received from Avon when I first joined the 24hour lead time is mentioned under Doorstep Selling as it requires a Pedlar's licence. I wonder whether it applies to situations such as carboots which aren't 'doorsteps'. Parties could be more borderline as other than the host you aren't on the other guest's doorstep. Either way I doubt that anyone is really going to make a fuss about it, would just be interested if anyone knows the answer.

Hi all wondering if you could help. I'm trying to return my money maker which really wasn't a money maker for me :( it's the spotlight perfume, and i'm wondering do I have to return the lipsticks with the perfumes??? I may have just sold the 4 of them to some friends, but they don't want the perfumes, will I just have to put the lippies back with the perfumes?

    any help would be greatful

If you order any product that comes with a free gift, the freebie must be returned at the same time. Its on the basis, that the freebie comes with a purchased gift. It is in the T&C. Send them back without the lippys and you could well be invoiced for them.

Carboots are very different to doorstepping. As is hostess party (you have been invited in and guests have been invited with a view to buying on the night and or from brochure.)

Peddling is because you do not have an appointment and or the property owner has no prior knowledge of your impending visit.

But we are free to sell our own product any way we like. Be it carboot, party, doorstep(within the guidelines) or via ebay.

    :)

    Hi lucyclare

would you be able to quote where in the guidelines it shows we can sell Avon products any way we like please?

It sounds like something useful to add to the first post.

    Thankyou.

It is not what Avon says. Its the law. You are entitled to sell your own belongings to whom ever you choose.

As long as you have paid for the goods, they are yours to sell. If you are going to order extra, try to sell and then return goods not sold that is a different matter, as previous threads have suggested that high volumes of returns are being investigated by Avon.

I spoke to my ASM about a website already selling over 100 bottles a week of SSS dry body oil and above is what she told me. (sales are qoted by them onsite) (alternativeinsectrepellent.co.uk) If they are happy to buy it in bulk (less than 500 units per individual item does not cause any problems with Avon) when it is cheap, C5 I think it was £2, less their 25% = cost of £1.50 and sell it at £5 RRP then that is fine. Avon gets paid, rep hits sales MOV poss HOV and everyone is happy.

The point is, if the bill is paid, the products belong to you, and no one has the right to dictate how you sell your own goods. Doorstepping is one area that anyone has to be careful of. Personally, I will not sell goods at the door, ever. Too much hasstle. One of my first customers was swindled at the door two weeks ago. She let in a 'meter reader' whilst his colleague chatted about the weather. You know where this is going. She was robbled blind.

Ive put a card through her door, if she wants Avon, to give me a call or have a neighbour get her a book. Her confidence is nil and Im happy to just steer clear for now.

    Hope that helps

    Re: above

For the same reason, people sell Avon on ebay.

  • Thanks lucyclare.

With the money maker it hadn't even occurred to me to return the perfume without the lipstick, I have 2 to send back too.

I've picked up a few new customers recanvassing with C8 which is good and an old customer has ordered again so I'm happy enough, although I do have my first order without a name!

I've been emailing my ASM about more territory with no reply and finally got a reply today from a stand in, so the last ASM lastest less than 10 campaigns :( That's no ASM and no SL as I haven't heard from her since I signed up.
