My original territory was 70 houses and then my ASM gave me some extra - prob took it up to 110/120 but also included some shops, which I was loathe to go into at first but some have proved really successful.

PS: Don't forget that if a customer in your territory can recommend a friend/neighbour in the next street then that's a really easy way to 'extend' your round
Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon ;))

    hi.
My party was scary to say the least lol. there was 15 people and some of them kept chatting and giggling amoungst theirselves..really hard to concentrate lol. i am by nature a very shy person, it takes alot for me to get up and do it, so a few times i was getting in a muddle lol.
well i did 115 pound of sales so not a lot really as there were that many people there :( but i might have a signup which is good :) i did manage to sell a bottle of outspoken, without a demo product or sample lol i just took some book 10's let them sniff from there lol and told them they could order it before it was even featured in the brochure :)
unfortunatly i didnt get any more party bookings, but i think thats because i talked about the party bookings at the end and noone was listening :( note to self talk about parties and reps at begining when they are all still interested lol.
after the incentive i offered the host...money out the brochure i made about 20 quid :( so not masses amount. it was good practice tho :)

talking about party stock...i never order anyto sell at the party i just have demos :)

    Hi All,

I applied to become a rep via the website a few days ago and now have the area manager coming to see me on Monday about signing up.

I've got a couple of questions before she comes though!

    1) I was orginially planning on just selling to friends and family, as our old avon lady recently gave up so thought I could jump in her place. I would probably get around 10 orders from this, maybe more if they pass onto friends etc. Any extra money I make is going towards a house deposit (every little helps!). Will I still have to do the door to door bit - didn't think about it untill she said on the phone that my road was available!

    2) Will I have a minimum amount that I have to make every time?

    3) If I really don't like it/ it's too time consuming how easy is it to say "thanks but no thanks"?

Apologies if these are really obvious questions but I just wanted to clear a few things up before Monday!

Great thread btw, have spent about an hour reading though and picking up some hints already!

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give. x

    hello
and hopefully welcome to the avon family :)

    1) you dont have to do territory (door to door) if you dont want to however it is a good way to get your sales up. the more people that see a book the more chance you have to get your sales up which obviously means more comission :)

    2) there is a minimum order value of 78 pound and after that you will earn your comission, but dont worry this is not as hard as it sounds..and again the more you get your book out. there is also a higer order value which increases your comission to 25%

    3) if you find you are not enjoying it etc, you just get intouch with the person that signed you up and let them know. and they'll tell you what to do.

Avon can be extremly fun, you get to meet some great people, and earn some money along the way. the good thing is you camn work as much or as little as you like. it is your business, you dont have anyone on your back telling you what to do and you havent done this you havent done that...ocassionly your upliner (area manager) might give you a call just to see how youre doing etc.

I started doing this to fit in around my children and to make a few pennies....but ive been doing it 14 months now, have my own team of reps and really enjoy it :)

hope all goes well and dont worry no question is silly thats what this thread is for :)

  • My turn to rant!!! After taking the plunge this camp and canvassing some of my village, managed to pick up some new customers. Was really nervous and was so intent on picking up the books and moving on to the next that I actually missed an order stuffed into one of the brochures. This was my last pick up on Monday night before ordering on Tues. Normally when I get home am really organised take out all slips, stack books etc, but this time cos of school hols, we were rushing out, had a quick look through was sure there was no orders and missed a £17 order. Anyway placed order on Tues night around 8pm and found order next morn around 10am. Quickly text ASM (don't have SL) she said to phone up order prob not processed might be ok. My first phone call to CS and I am not a happy bunny! Adviser refused to check order, said I had to place additional or not at all (pay postage), I asked if she could just check my order and she said NO. As this is a new customer placed additional over phone, and would you believe it has arrived today, two days before original order is due to arrive AND she has ordered all my items from camp 6 instead of camp 7 costing and extra £10! I have sent an email to complain, lets see what happens. Sorry, rant over!
