I have a questin about Territories. My SL has tried to get me more streets, more like the one i live on rather than having to keep crossing the stream! She has come back to me to say they are already covered. I have lived here for 3 years and never seen a Avon book. Have spoken to a lady up the road (who then placed a order with me!) and she said someone used to come round a few years back but hasnt been seen since!
When a rep doesnt wanna do it anymore, are the streets released again? How does it work?C7 - 221.05 :j C8 - 308.07 :j C9 - 250.84 :j C10 - £525.25 :j:j C11 - £467.91 :j C12 - 491.44 :j C13 - £442.09 :j C14 - £357.95 :j0 -
Unfortunately - unless whoever the rep is under (whether it is a sl or the asm) checks if the rep still wants the territory , then it will remain allocated to them until they leave avon. Territory can be removed from someones account if they request it - I've checked with some of my reps and if they don't want it then I get it removed, keeps it fair so that a rep who actually wants territory can cover it. Presumably in your case, the rep who has your street is still a rep, just doesn't bother recanvassing anymore.
What I'd suggest is - you could either get your sl to inform the asm that you've lived there for 3 years without a book, it could get the territory removed from the rep in question, but more likely the rep may be told to recanvass and actually do, which would shoot you in the foot so to speak. I'd suggest to knock and ask the people on your street if they would like a brochure. You can't just push them through the door, with it not being allocated to you - but asking people if they would like a book is ok in these circumstances - the rep can hardly complain if you've never had a book from them in the 3 years you've been there! Then in the future, if your road does become free, then you should be able to get it allocated to you, or at the very least all your customers would remain loyal to you if a new rep took it over. It isn't ideal, but sometimes its the only way to make best of a bad situation!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Yeah they were from the clearance book, so was the antler bag set. It's a shame that the stock indicators only show a couple of days before you place your order. If they showed up from when you first enter the item into your order if it's out of stock you then have chance to go back to your customer and perhaps suggest alternative products.Proud wife to a soldier and mummy to two gorgeous boysDealing with our Debt Barclaycard £2022.98 RBS £1249.86 Next £183.03September Groceries £120/£102.05:( September Packed Lunches 22/6Sealed Pot Challenge #9940

I've got an Antler weekend bag I am returning to Avon, but it is missing the shoulder strap.
Gloversgirl - well, what is supposed to happen, is that the ASM is supposed to check with the reps whether or not they are canvassing their territories, when they last canvassed. If it it turns out they have not been canvassing, they are supposed to give up their territories so it can be allocated to someone else. But with all the work ASMs have to do, I don't think many of them get time to do this.
I know for a fact, roads near where I live are never canvassed even though they have been allocated to reps, who live on those roads.
You could talk to your SL about this particular road and say you have spoken to someone who said they haven't seen anyone for a few years. The SL would have to check with the ASM who is covering this road, and they would have to get in touch with the rep, or if they have left, to release the road.0 -

The reason they don't show up until just before your order is due to be submitted, is because it depends upon what reps in earlier mailplans order. I believe avon may hold back some stocks of items, but for the most part, first come first served - so if they showed the stock all the time, we could be misled into believing something was in or out of stock and it could change in the days before our order was due.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
if you want to check stock levels you can go to place an additional order and enter the product codes and view the sub-total which will have the colour coding, but you will need to delete the order afterwards (unless you do want to place the additional order)Jan 2010 - Overdraft £9,500 / Credit Cards £5,000 / Loan £9,500 / Mortgage £128,000

great new thread
A question about door knocking rather than book dropping - what do you say and where do you start? It scares me a bit tbh but if it is worth it then I'll do it!K xx

Hi All this maybe a stupid question but i was curious to see if anyone did this. Do you often order from the previous camp. if the customers product was cheaper so it works out cheaper for your self?0

Yep all the time! For family & friends I pass the saving onto them, but for territory customers I pocket the difference - it helps to cover the cost of your brochures, bags, samples etc etc so no need to feel guilty!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
