*****************good info*************************
Today went to a HMIR workshop for 'being self employed' I must admit i was very surprised to hear from the man himself that i can claim LYD in August as a legitimate business expense by way of a conference.
Not to mention a great book telling me what i can and cannot claim for.
Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Get onto your tax office and ask them if you can get on one if your area. only for 2 1/2 hours but what an eyeopener!!!:T wealth is a state of mind :T0 -
yep Lucyclare, that's what I said, better to go along to the Inland Revenue workshops yourself, because the rules change on what you can and can't claim, so better to have the knowledge from the "horse's mouth", then from other people.
I attended last year and it was very good, they give you a booklet to take home too.0 -
oh Lucyclare, your website address is wrong, there is no www. It is just https://yourname.myavon.co.uk . Avon changed it a while back.0

Ladies,
After reading and watching, I think "lurking" is the correct term! I have decided to sign up as an Avon Rep and have an ASM coming round on Friday to go through the finer details with me, I cannot wait to get started.
If you don't mind I have a few questions for you guys, one's that will help me hit the ground running at the weekend.....
1) What is the more productive way to do things, just drop catalogues through each door or knock and ask them if they want to look? I'm worried if I give them the choice then I will get more No's than Yes's.
2) Should I put a little introductory note in my first drop's?
3) I see from the hints and tips section, I should have 2 campaigns running at the same time? Should I try and get some copies of the last campaign? What campaign are you on now?
Thanks so much!
V
Hi vicky
and welcome to the thread. Good luck with your Avon business, and please do not be afraid to ask questions! that is what we are here for, to help and support each other, and no question is a silly question!
1) We've had this discussion before. We all have different methods, for some dropping books and running works well, for others door knocking works just as well. It is a case of personal choice, I am afraid. If you are happy door knocking, go for it! As Marsden Cuckoo will tell you, this way if you get a few no thank you, it gives you more books to door knock with, rather than collecting a few days later, to find a no thank you.
Me, when I first started... was too shy to door knock, so I was a stuffer and run!
2) Yes, a little introductory note with your books is a great idea, it helps people to get to know you, know you are serious and gives them a name to get in touch with and number, if they have any queries. Have a look through the thread, others have posted what they put on theirs. And try first page for extra ideas, there are links to really helpful suggestions.
3) you will find some of us are on different campaigns to each other, because some on here are trendsetters, so 2 campaigns ahead. I am currently on C8, others might be on C9 or C7.
When your ASM comes round, she should explain back ordering and how to have 2 campaigns on the go at one time, currently I have 8 and 7. But she will provide you with books, so don't worry at moment about ordering books.0 -
hello ladies
does anyone offer reps who dont want to be sales leaders and incentive to find you reps? i know that seems asilly question but if they have afriend who wants to be a rep and they pass their details on to me. (instead of them being a sales leader) should i give them something, add that to my news email?
any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks
Hi lolly
my SL offers £5 cash for any leads I give her, this was before I became SL, if I told her I knew someone who wanted to sell avon, she would go to see them, if they signed up and put in an order for the first campaign, she would give me £5 cash.
She also has incentives, if I get 10 in my team she will give me £80 cash.0 -

I offer my reps £10 if they refer someone to join, I say there are T&Cs ask for more details, however, none of my reps have referred anyone yet, but you never know! I will only pay out if the person signs up, places a first order of at least £78 (so I get refunded for my brochures) and if they pay their bill!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

it just automatically re-directs you to the http:// site, but I think having the www makes it easier for people to remember.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
