    The paperwork arrived today and

" The offer is limited to one new account per household and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer"

When I rang on Monday to request the opening packs I asked if we could have one each and was assured that was fine, seems not to be though.

Vroomfondel - 1000 points paid for a weeks parking near Mancester airport worth £40 I dont think thats such a bad return.

I have just rung Tesco about providing bank statements. I bank online and prints of the statement do not show my address. The woman I spoke to said there are no alternatives. I must ask my bank for a statement showing my address. Unfortunately they charge for that. She was surprised that I did all my banking online!!

I am going to send two proofs from the longer, first list with a covering letter explaining why I do not have bank statements and will report back here with the outcome.

And I tell myself I a'm not addicted to BA Miles (where my Tesco points go): what an insanely manual process for the sake of 2,400 miles! Printing? Sending things by post? Hello, did Tesco get the memo that it's 2006?!

    But thanks for the tip.

It will do for me. £1000 in bank for a matter of weeks and gain 2400 miles. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Only after a few more points to gain a free upgrade to business for 2 return flights to China .

Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI
  • You can apply online people, yes you need a print out and stuff but on the form it does say you can apply online, also when proceeding with online application (leave blank the bit where it says 'enter deal code') it asks for your clubcard number.

also for the person who's bank charges for sending out statements, BOOOOOO!! what a RIP, i bank online with First Direct, have my statements sent by post, lost some a while ago, and needed replacements, yet they never charged a penny. thats service!

You can print out an online statement and get it certified by your bank - pop into a branch to get it stamped. I know this because I had to do this for my remortgage and I also asked Tesco today.

I also asked the lady at Tesco about opening one for me, one for my wife and one for my daughter and she said no problem. I'm happy enough to try it and see what happens - if we don't get the 3 x 1000 then so be it.

There is perhaps an upside to keeping this Savings account open after you get the points. Did you know you can pay cheques into the account at the tills in most Tesco stores?

Works great for me as I pay a fair number of small value cheques in each month, instead of the hassle of getting into town during banking hours and paying a small fortune for parking, I could nip round the corner to Tesco at any time day or night, pay the cheques in and then transfer them back to my current account (or wherever) after they clear. Simple!

OK I lose a couple of days interest, but it will be only pennies in total. Smart idea me thinks.
  • If use my clubcard plus will i be entitled to double points i.e 2000 points?.
