That apple cake looks gorgeous Cinny. I'm going to have to live vicarioiusly through you now, new diet started today, no baking for about 2 months, not sure I'm going to cope! It's the actual baking rather than the eating I'm most worried about missing!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Thanks Dinah!
No baking for 2 months?! but... wha.. what about your blog?! Surely you could just make your family eat the baked stuff and report back, going by the looks of the photos they wouldn't need much pushing!
Thats one reason why I hated getting paid monthly, you always have a week or two at the end of the month when you're thinking 'Oooh, bum!' (only with stronger wordings that MSE are bound to !!! out!) Hope you manage to get through the next couple weekends okay!
Oooh, the list isn't going too well at allWeather is rubbish and its left me feeling a little 'meh' plus I don't have enough butter to make the oatybiscuitniceness *sniffs* Will get on with the blog post for my erm.. blog though. The 'beauty' one, not the thrifty one!

Whole family is on the diet sadly. The blog is going to have to be pro-harcombe foods for a while, chocolate mousses and that kind of thing.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Harcombe, it's the diet we're following. Its mean. (She says, in full chocolate withdrawl)Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

The diet will get easier as you get into it Dinah, hope the cravings have died down! Always a struggle on the first couple days - the Harcombe looks strict though. I wouldn't like that! Thankfully you've got about 52 times more willpower than I have.
Feeling very very very chipper today. But I had a dream last night that I rescued a really cute dog and called it Rupert - so had a pretty 'Awhh, not fair!' moment when I woke up to no puppyShould have known a talking puppy was a little too good to be true!
Not much happening today though. At work all day, bought my dinner with me and lots of fruity snacks! Going to get the budget written up for next week too, week after next I'll be putting money to one side each payday for monthly bills ect so budgets won't need re-doing all the time! Thank goodness!
And *taps chin* I think that's it! Have a nice day everyone!0 -
Hullo again!
(no prizes for guessing I'm have a slow day over here!)
Moved some more money into my laptop account, so the balance is at a funny numberLooking forward to it being cleared and reading 'New York 2012 Savings' instead!
Figured out the budget too. And it's looking weirdly rosey, to the point I'm sure I'm missing something out!
So I've decided while I have the extra money I'll be good with it. Going to give myself £40 for the week - as it's my birthday I'll be selfish in thinking I won't need to spend much on the days that normally cost me loads (Friday and Saturday!) leaving me with £37.50 extra. I'm going to pay £20 into my Mobile account online, which will cover the bulk of next months bill, £10 extra into the HD (it's looking sad and neglected!) then the £7.50 as extra into the laptop account.
Also I had to guess my wages again, so any extra money will be popped into the laptop account too.
See, my spending is under control! Last month that would have just vanished in one trip to the shops.
ETA: Oh, also! I rang cineworld about my unlimited card and cancelled the contract. She told me it's valid until the end of April - but they won't be any more payments taken from my account for it? Which is weird, cause I have 1 payment left! I suppose we'll see on the 1st when it's supposed to come out, and I'm kind of guessing it will. *rolly eyes*0 -
Where the biscuit-tins is everyone today?
Anyways! Home from work now. And.. relax! Popped by my Grandparents on the way home and my Grandpa has a nasty chest infection and is refusing to go too the DoctorsNot surprising, he's always been stubborn! It's like what I had at the start of the year, and that totally wiped me out so I don't know how he must be feeling. Trying to think of something I can bake him to cheer him up, and maybe bribe him into going!
My Grandparents gave me £20 petrol money though, so either tonight or Thursday morning I'll go and feed the Gregster. Told my Mum she doesn't have to fill Greg up anymore, but she said she'll put £10 or so in, in a couple weeks which will still be a great help.
Jumped the gun and put all my change bar 50p into my spare change jar. Only kept the 50p to buy my Sister some chocolate tomorrow, she takes me to work most Wednesday morning so I normally buy her a cream egg in returnbut I'm trying my hand at making chocolate whoopsie cakes in the morning - so if they go well I can just give her some of them instead! And put the 50p in the jar too. We'll see!
Have a nice night everyone.0 -

Tidy up downstairs

Morning Cinny! Your high five made me giggle! Well done on the Ugg bargain though! And well done for not buying yourself some more in the process!
Make sure you go to the cinema loads between now and the end of April, run that card into the ground! If you still want to see the odd movie after then I can get tickets for slightly less than normal (about £10 for 2 tickets... it used to be £8.75, I'm gutted it's gone up!), I can PM you the contact and discount code if you like? You just have to order them about a week before you go which puts a stop to going on a whim but we like to have them in just in case!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
