Cinnys Spending Diary - Ups and Downs!

Options
So yosh, I'm back again.
Seems I've fallen into the trap of being a yo-yo debter!
It's never for major amounts, but it's annoying none the less and it seems to be one big and bloody annoying circle I'm trapped in.
It's a shame too, because I used to be so totally on top of my money. Saved for everything, never really borrowed off of people, and had a healthy looking ISA too.
And that's what I'd like to get back to, please.
So I'm starting another spending diary, hope you all don't mind having me back!
A little bit about me:
I'm 18 (19 at the end of the month) and live at home with my Parents. I work for the family company, and really do enjoy it.
I have a fantastic boyfriend, who's nicely supportive of my old MSe ways.
I have a cat called Pippin - who thankfully doesn't just have taste buds for whiskers.
My boyfriend is paying his own debts off at the moment, which I fully support, but end up footing the bill for a lot of things. Which I don't mind at all, but need to budget better for.
So, this will just be a spending and general chatter thread.
I don't do extra money making anymore as I was getting near obsessed with it, and didn't have any free time that wasn't spent doing it. So I gave it up for the sake of my sanity.
A nicely structured budget will do me fine.

I went into town this morning to buy my Dad his dinner to take to work with me. Ended up having a needless wander as the troops were marching through my town, which lead to needless spends.

    Spends:
    Lemon - 1x30p
    Thorntons Shortcake thingys - 2x£1 *

    Total Spend: £2.30
*Picked these up for my Grandma & Great Aunt as little Mothers Day gifts. Just a little justification. I don't have a shortcake problem.

That'll be it for today, as I'm at work all afternoon then straight back home.

Checked my credit card balance, and it's showing as '-£15'
I think I know what happened. I did one payment of £15 on Friday, then did another for the full balance on Monday, thinking my £15 had come off that. Clearly not.
I spent £13.71 on it yesterday though - my cat needed more flea-killing-stuff. Will wait for it all to balance then I'm ringing up and cancelling the account.
Will cut the card up in some kind of ceremony that involves chanting and lots of incense burning.
That will put a stop to the nasty borrowing circle once and for all. Then I just need to focus on getting a proper budget, and most importantly curbing my spending.

Hi Cinny! Welcome back to to diary-dom! It's a good idea to come back, you only seem to really do well when you have to come on here and confess to your sins! ;)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

    Hi and wecome back!

I think it is a good idea to have this to try and keep you on the straight and narrow.

I have cut down on my moneymaking stuff as I find stuff like Dooyoo really knackers me out and so I am focusing on surveys and stuff now only.

Good idea for the new thread - like Birdie said, you do so well when you have to confess your sins!

Thanks Girls :) Kind of nice to be back!

Up super early this morning so I had time to check my credit card & bank accounts before I came to work. Confusion City. The money I spent on my CC still hasn't cleared, and I've had money for an order refunded into my bank account even though they've shipped it. So I'm going to call the company up today and see what's happening. Hm!

My Dad gave me £10 randomly yesterday which I won't complain about! Taking my Mum to the cinema tomorrow to see Alice in Wonderland so I'll use it to pay for her ticket and the extra charge for me (have a not so unlimited Cineworld card) Still have 2 pairs of glasses from when me and Rich went to see it last Friday so it shouldn't cost too much. (I don't have an Alice in Wonderland problem mind, just my Dad doesn't want to take my Mum to see it!)

Today's going to be a no spend day. I'm at work in the morning, then helping my Grandad out in his garden this afternoon. So unless my Grandparents charge me for dinner, it's a free day!

Good to see you have your own thread again Cinny :) I agree about just having a decent budget rather than spending all your time doing STP and the like! :D x

Hi Cinny and happy new thread, I totally found that having my own diary made me focus and pay off my OD in super quick time, hoping it'll do the same for my moving out fund too!

Speaking of Alice, have you seen this? I really really covet it, but might put the £30 (for that is what it costs!) into the MOF instead... Hmm...

    The signature is back!

Done a little budget, which may/may not be stuck to as I had to guess my wages. After all the various saving pots I'll have £75 left for the week, but budgeting myself to £50 and will put whatever's left into my HD account at the end of the week (next thursday) which will hopefully be about £25. It could be more as I'm helping my Grandpa in the garden this afternoon and he normally slips me a note for my troubles, but I won't pin any hope on that as don't help my Grandparents out for the money. Would be a little warped if that's all I did it for!

I have seen that Tete - it's purdy isnt it?! I've heard really good things about it, but I know I only really want it for the pop up part. So I'm playing nice! Think you'll get it?

No I don't think I will, I love UD but have one of their palettes and a few single ones already and don't even wear eyeshadow that often! Should dutifully put the money in the MOF really shouldn't I? :o

House deposit already looking quite healthy 7% there already! :) What are you aiming for with the holiday pot?

    Enjoy the gardening!
