Somone coming into my house...

But if the dog knows the person then he wont be much help to you if you need him. What happens if he decides to come round when you're in bed? Change those locks straight away. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

There is nothing personal lying around, the person would have to hunt down my filing system of which I am very meticulous! No if it is the person that I think it is then he's not going to come in when I am at home, for whatever reason he is coming in when I am out and in the year since I have last seen him he's never ever been in contact. So I'm not worried about him coming in when I am in bed - the door is always locked and the key kept in it, and my internal door squeaks like hell so if he did get in I would hear him.
I'm kind of stuffed if he does get in - my mobile doesn't work in the house but I will take the landline to bed tonight just in case.
I'm more reassured than anything, strange as that may sound, that I wasn't going mad and imagining it about the dog being so tired she wouldn't get out of bed.
Thanks for all your advice, the factor will be called in the morning and I will be home mid-afternoon so can get the locks done then. I will now lose myself in politics in anticipation of my exam at 11.0 -
OMG this is really scarey!
Hope you manage to get it sorted.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £32,226.970 -
Hi
I would definitely report it to the police. There is probably nothing they can do but it is good to have it on record in case anything else happens (unexpected phone bill etc). I would get locks changed too. It might also be an idea to get a motion sensor video camera set up to record someone trying to open door (after locks changed)
It may also be useful to have your concerns formally recorded in case the exam doesn't go as well as expected.
Good Luck with the exam.0 -
Can you get a friend/relative to stay round while you do your exam tomorrow? I wouldn't want to leave the house unattended until the locks get changed.

It defo sounds like someone who knows you well, if my dogs came across someone they didn't know in our house we'd be finding chunks of the person everywhere! Shame you didn't have a webcam or something setup to keep an eye on the indoors whilst you not there, could've caught the !!!!!! in the act. Sounds like a right creep trying to make you go a bit madThis time next year Rodney...0

unfortunately there's no one I can get to come to the house tomorrow, no friends or family nearby - if I rang my parents about this they would go ballistic and make me move in with them!
Just been thinking more about it though, and it's the dog that's the giveaway again in this - I had to take her to the vets last week, and whilst there she was weighed and has put on a bit of weight - there's been no change to either of our routines since September when I started college and my part time job, I am a very anal person and like things to be perfect to the point of obsessiveness especially in my house, that's why I thought I was starting to go mad, bed covers pulled back, that sort of thing. I wonder if the guy is feeding her? She was definately sitting at the gate in anticipation of something, and he used to walk her for me when I was working.
But why - I've had no contact with this guy for a year - I haven't seen him even in passing for at least six months, I used to see him when I was driving to work but I don't work in an office any more, gave it up to go to college in September and we split in Feb last year after only 4 months.0 -
Alyth? would you be so complacent if it WASNT who you think it is? you dont know for sure its him - if he hasnt contacted you at all in a year its unlikely he is coming round to walk your dog!
too many people have access to your home you know - tomorrow - change your locks and dont give anyone a key. call the police and tell them whats going on. and be aware your dog now thinks someone is a friend - and may not be able to defend you.
Also, If i were you, I wouldnt spend tonight at home....why? because you broke your routine and they may realise you heard them and for all they know saw them. spend the night at a travelodge or a friends.
please hun, dont be complacent you arent going to get hurt - even if its overcautious - dont be on your own tonight.0 -
If you used to leave the key outside, how can you be sure that a stranger does not have a copy??
Please do not leave it to chance tonight. Either call an emergency 24 hour locksmith or stay with someone else/hotel tonight. Safety comes first!!0 -
Just reread this and don't want to freak you out anymore but !!!!!!!! Your bedcovers are pulled back? that is way too creepy, what the hell is he or she doing there? I second the suggestion of going to a hotel or similar.
