Yeah, seems that way but every complaint is different and yours could be fairly simple and have good reasons. It should not put you off reclaiming if you feel it was missold to you though. These things are not mean't to be easy for us.did you mean its difficult because its norton0 -
Thought I would "bump" this thread up to see if there is anyone else out there with expereince of complaints re miss selling Re Norton.
Surely it just can't be you and I, Blakeney ?????0 -
Hi there
I think "Anychance" is one of them who had a complaint against these, but don't think she had any joy.
I think though because her loan was sold to her before they were members, was a reason why she could not complain to the ombudsman as well, but she may have gone the insurer direction instead, maybe the FOS suggested her to do this.
Hopefully Anychance will come along soon and post of an update.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

BUT Anychance was sold the insurance AFTER regulation so whoever "sold" the insurance should/would have come under FOS and this is something that I cannot understand. ALL sales of insurance were regulated as you know since 14th Jan 2005 and Anychance was sold this after that date I think so should have no need to go after the actual insurer. If that is the case then whoever sold the insurance (be it Norton Finance) were not actually allowed to do this if they were not regulated because they should have been.Hi there

Oh dear, so Anychance did not have any luck and was sold the insurance AFTER regulation, ours was sold in August 2006 !
I am wondering if the Norton "standard letter" in response to miss selling complaints is so good that people don't think they stand a chance (the way I felt when I got it) but I am so angry that we have been sold something which is completely unsuitable etc., that I WILL fight this all the way.

I would speak to the FSA and also FOS about this. I know that there was someone named spoll who has a similar problem a couple of years ago and he made the complaint against Norton Insurance Services Limited who are the principal of Norton Finance (they are regulated). Norton Insurance Services limited were not the actual insurer though although it sounds that way but Norton Finance are appointed reps of these. ALL insurance was regulated since Jan 2005 so if they do not accept the complaint OR FOS or the FSA then someone, somewhere is misguiding people OR someone sold insurance when they SHOULD have been regulated and were not so this means a complaint about that I would say. The FSA should be able to guide you who to make the complaint to but "stress" to them that this was AFTER regulation took place.Oh dear, so Anychance did not have any luck and was sold the insurance AFTER regulation, ours was sold in August 2006 !
