Any ideas how best to do this,

I did send a letter with the complaint saying hope it would be fast tracked but no mention of it, perhaps i could send another letter.

I may even send a letter to their complaints department

    what do you think guys?

    Hi AC

    Hope your well.:D

I would write to them by stating that your case have finally been accepted after being rejected by the Finanical Ombudsman Service on a few occasions, and due to the inconvenience and distress this have caused, you are again requesting if your complaint can now be fast tracked.
Make them aware that if your complaint had not been rejected, you feel that your complaint would have been possibly dealt with by now and even resolved.

Something along those lines will be okay, in your own words.;)

    Good luck X

Yeah as Di says send a letter BUT I would address it complaint for certain or it may just end up in the queue also. You really need to write to complaints about the service I would think or both them and the general ombudsman. Its was not YOUR fault that this got dismissed and would and could have been settled before now. The Ombudsman made the mistake.

    Hi guys,

Just to report mis-sold PPI success here too against Norton! This was on a mortgage with Swift Advances - PPI £5k over 3 years on a 25 year mortgage taken out in May 2006, repaid in in full after only 18 months. Took complaint to FOS last August after Norton insisted it wan't mis-sold (even providing a recording of the call to prove their point). The FOS upheld my complaint last November, but Norton refused to pay up - in fact I've heard nothing from them since they sent their final response last summer - so it was passed to an ombudsman. Last week the ombudsman's final decision was received - he also upheld the complaint and as the acceptance form has been signed and returned it is now legally binding!

Well worth persevering and good luck to you!

    Hi Clare,

It's definitely worth persevering - I must admit I felt like giving up when I received Norton's fob-off letter, particularly as they believed that having a copy of the telephone call in which the PPI was sold to my OH was proof that they had not mis-sold the policy. Listening to the CD I was almost inclined to agree and I firmly believed this would go against us with the FOS.

Reading post 11 by marshallka regarding Norton Insurance Services Ltd, it is they whom the FOS has held responsible for our mis-selling, even though I only referred to Norton Finance in my complaint.

If/when I hear anything from Norton I will let you know - I don't always remember to come on here to update my threads as I am mostly on Cag (where my user name is landy_alert), but I will definitely keep you posted as it is vital that any success against these low-lifes is reported to give other victims encouragement!

Hope both you and ANY CHANCE have success soon!

Thankyou Liberty Lily. I have been saying it and shouting it for so long (2 years or so!!). Norton Compaints were getting dismissed by FOS even though they were sold after 14th January 2005 and I had noted a couple of years ago that Norton Insurance Services Limted were actually the principals of Norton Finanace and they WERE regulated so as Norton Finance were appointed reps of them FOS should have made the complaint against them.

I actually feel so relieved now as it was getting me angry for all of you lot (and especially Anychance!!) who were getting complaints turned away when I knew I was correct in who had to take the rap for the complaint. Just glad now that its all sorted though. I think some on here must have thought "oh no, here she goes again going on about Norton Insurance Services (and this was not to make the insurers repsonsible either) and just ignoring me when in fact it was correct. Its made me feel a little more sane now lol.

Thank you so much Liberty-Lily and to marshallka for your advice re Norton Insurance.

I most certainly agree that it is important for others in simular situations particulary with Norton are encouraged by successes.

These companies are deffinately low lifes, when I was in difficulties repaying my loan way back last June, before I realised I had been sold PPI, all they could offer to help me was Express Debt Solutions to take over any unsecured debts so I could focus on my repayments to Picture.....funny how EDS have the exact same address as Nortons !!! so even when people are left in financial difficulties they still try to get more money of of them by charging to look after unsecured debts.

    Its criminal ...truly criminal.

My compliant is now in the lap of the Gods at the FOS so guess I now just got to sit tight for a long wait.

    Please keep us posted.
