If its to much i don't think a 7 year old will lose that much weight in such a small time frame. How are you connected to the flowergirl?
I know from a my sister her sis in law with obese kids (not suggesting your flowergirl is)they won't take any advise that feeding kids fried food for every tea (they say its the cheapest and only way to feed them all) and letting them have big snacks from school, tea, then supper then snacks to go to bed with is the wrong way to be.
You cannot put a 7 year old on a diet but you can take all the junk from the cupboards/fridge if the whole family agree to a healthier start. I would not like to be in your shoes for this one.
thats assuming there is no medical reason for her bigger size? How far in advance did you buy the dress?

10 weeks for me! my flowergirls need to try on their dresses again but I purposely bought big so they should fit right now. Their shoes on the other hand fitted fine so if they dont now its... actually not my problem. MIL can sort them out if they dont fit!
I am thinking it may be upsetting for your flowergirl not to be a flowergirl and it might cause unhealthy food association problems in the future. It seems a shame to penalise her for her parents ignorance (if indeed she has put on weight due to unhealthy eating?).
had a major breakdown this morning over my dads family. they are a nightmare, probably really offended I didnt invite them and am now worrying they will just turn up at the wedding. we have had over 300 hits on our website and we only sent 54 invites for 90 adults and 16 children which seems a little odd.?0 -

That is so sad. Those kids are too young to make healthy eating decisions for themselves.0 -
aarchk-perhaps people have looked at the website more than once, or told their pals about it because it is ace and they looked at it too? Plus how many times have you looked at it from another computer?!
I am trying to design our evening invites, just can decide how to do them, but really need to make a decision very soon and make them!
Our friend who is doing the flowers is coming down this afternoon, she's just got engaged too, so it should be a fab afternoon and evening of wedding talk!!
My Ma and Pa are starting to get to me though, they keep talking about "tradition" such as "Why are the invite rsvp's to your address, they should be to our address, it's tradition" or "you can't have that music when you sign the register, it's tradition to have it at the end" and more and more..They are doing my head in. Who cares about tradition?! Surely what we want is more important?!0 -

Guys
I am back. MIL had her MRI scan on Sat so now waiting for results. Bone marow probe still to come now though
In the mean time I am back trying to sort out this farce of a wedding and I need help.
Had a bit of a train wreck food tasting session yesterday 1) OH really poorley with Migraine (spent all day today chasing round walk in centres and doctors to get him some med for it) 2) my dad was stressed and kept asking inaine questions that seem logical to me 3) dad and step mum ran into their old neighbours who were staying at the hotel so had them sticking their ore in + 2 kids running round 4) they did it in the bar and it filled up quite quick with people who were eating there so all in all was a bit !!!!.
The food is lovely, the prosecco they have chosen for us is beautiful but we now have a problem. We are going for a buffet but they are seating us as they say its not an eat with your fingers meal (pizza, salad and pasta). Also thinking about going back to a formal dinner as the price of a pizza £13.50 is not comparable with roast chicken dinner for same price.
One of my problems is carrying the theme through. This was to be Italy as we met and got engaged there so hence the bellini on arrival the italian food but the decs won't be italian, the coffee at the end will be crappy cafetiare stuff and I don't think it will jell.
If we are all seated and go back to a sit down formal then we can go for cheaper options on welcome drink keep the prosecco (don't like champers) for a toast but looking back at the cost it still seems like buffet with the italian food will be the way to go.... hmm we'll seeMarried the love of my life on 28th April 2011 :T
Re- Renovating our 1893 build 1970's renovated property oh the joys..0 -
You could look at it from a different perpective - a 'hint' of italy?? I am having italian wine and doing bellinis as welcome drinks but everything else is a bit of a mix.
And the best roast chicken I ever had was in fact when I was staying with friends in Italy! Is there any way you could jazz it up a little to make it more what you want (Italian seasoning with the gravy, roasted mediteranean veg etc?) To be fair I think the roast chicken will be so popular no one will notice!
Shame you couldnt get a bit of privacy for the tasting. Some places dont realise how important the tasting is.
My good news is that a friend I hadnt spoken to or seen for ages called on saturday to find out if the dress she was buying would accidentally be the same as the bridesmaids (she was in Coast). She hasnt RSVPd yet and I was a little upset thinking she wouldnt come so was really happy to hear she was. Also really pleased she thought to check about the colour of my BM dresses. Fortunately theres never many dresses in sage green in the shops so I dont think anyone will clash!0 -
Hi all
Yesterday we paid off a massive chunk of our reception venue, £3000 to be exact! so thats £3500 paid to them so far and from my calculations we will owe them just £608.40 10 days before the wedding with the final numbers I am predicting.
Starting to panic though as my dress STILL isn't back at the shop! We get married 6 weeks Saturday and I will def need alterations as I am so short! My mum rang the shop almost 2 weeks ago to book my brother and dad's suit fittings, and she enquired about my dress coming in as when we brought it in September we were told it would be back in February, and the woman she spoke to said it was def due back beginning of Feb, well now we're in the last week of Feb I can't help but panic!! Someone please reassure me that I will have plenty of time to get it sorted or should I be ringing them again? I don't wanna sound like some crazed bride whose panicking for nothing!!
I love the italian idea Becks, but then I LOVE italian food! I agree with aarchk, maybe just have a 'hint' of Italy, that way it also doesn't overpower the wedding and u can take out the bits u want without feeling that everything has to be Italian themed. HTH
B2B24 glad ur dress fitting went well, Well done on the weight loss too. I think I must be 1 of the last to get there dress back, even though I am 1 of the 1st here to be married!!Total Debt at LBM - £19107.03Total now - £11091.220
