I have my wedding mojo back!:T:j
Had a fab time at the wedding exhibition with my mum yesterday - and have booked my make up lady! I also met the lady who made the hairpiece that I coveted at the exhib last year, and made an appointment to meet her this evening. Have ordered a stunning wire and crystal orchid type shape, on a thin silver headband, and it is gorgeous!! The lady that makes them was really nice too, and we have a great laugh! She gave me a nice discount as well, so I am chuffed!
I also went with my other bridesmaid to see about her dress today. The one in the shop didnt fit, and I had a right panic, but the shop said that they could order it as an express, and that they would split the £50 cost, so it would only be £25. I was happy with that, as it means both bms will be in the same dress, and the shape (although it didnt fasten properly at the back) looked gorge on my bm - so despite that fact that they are TOTALLY diff shapes, we found a style that really flatters then both, and in a similar style to mine (got them alfred angelo 7027, in black).
So now I am off to have my supper and then come back on here to investigate veils! :T
Happy wedding planning everyone!:j0 -

Csh & Insomniac I know what you think about b4 xmas it seeming all so far away and now we are in January its seems just round the corner!
Have sat down with OH tonight and we have decided on the music in the church and first dance (we are having Feel like Fred Astaire - James) and also the choice of hymans and readings religious and none religious that we need to choose from - Magicboo The Tin Wedding Whistle is lovely!!
Have also looked at invite wording and fonts and timings for the day. This gives me something to work with although OH is getting very oh god not this again
Have now got to find cash for my dream dress and see if it will fit (looks really big) although better too big than too small... see if she will come down on price....Married the love of my life on 28th April 2011 :T
Re- Renovating our 1893 build 1970's renovated property oh the joys..0 -
Morning All,
We were looking for readings yesterday too. We haven't decided yet, but I want"A lovely love story" to be read during the signing of the register. I think we are going to have "one more step along the world I go" and "Lord of the dace". H2b has never done church, so has said I can pick the songs!
We are hopefully sending out our invitations this week, but we may need to include a menu choice thing-but we can't decide what we want, so can't make the choice things and put them in the invitations!
This weeks to do list is:
Pick which pies we want for the main course
pick puddings
speak to caterers about choices
sort out crockery (we hopefully have a friend lending it to us)
book loos
[STRIKE]buy stamps for invites[/STRIKE] done!
Post invitations-if possible!0 -
I want more step as well
great choice. Its a tenner if you want it on order of service if you have one lol i was looking on a website the other day and it mentions it.

Well I took another step to get my body into shape in readiness for my last fitting on 20th February. Yesterday someone advertised an exercise trampette/rebounder on freecycle, so I picked it up as I wasn't working yesterday. I had quite a few goes on it yesterday, including jumping for the length of the adverts during CSI last night. It's great fun, and apparently is much better for you than other forms of exercise, as it's low impact on your joints (good for me, as recently my hips have been hurting), and apparently helps to cleanse your lymphatic system leading to boosted immune system. I googled exercises I could do with it last night, and although I think my one is probably on the cheaper end, so not quite as snazzy as some of the ones on the net, it seems to give me quite a good workout still. Now all I need to do is exercise my self-control to stop me buying bad-for-you foods, and mores the point, eating them! lol
Glad to hear all of your plans are going well. I think I'll speak to Moon when he comes home tonight and arrange going to our reception venue to talk through food choices etc, and confirm times, so that I can send out those invites.
Happy planning everyone,

I have some exciting news today i won a comp for a spa break
1 night break; bed & breakfast accommodation, and time to relax and enjoy the facilities. Your break also includes an ESPA Skin Hydrator Facial, and a mini manicure.
They are sending me details of the spa as the magazine (dunno which one i assume a bridal one i enter alot online) have not informed me i have won yet. They left it up to the spa. Its about 60 miles from me so not to far.0 -
Maysie-how exciting! Well done you!
Also-do we really have to pay to print the songs?! I had no idea! Maybe I'll just put "page 224 in hymn book" or whatever instead!
Anyone know where I can find cheap bright pink low heeled shoes? I would use ebay, but I need 3 pairs for my BM's..0 -
they mention copyright on our infomation sheet from church.
i just had a look online and
Please note, permission from the copyright holder will
be required to reprint the words to the hymns you choose.
Please read the Copyright Issues section below for further information.
Copyright issues
Copyright exists in creative works such as hymns for 70 years after the death of the writer. During that period, it is illegal to reproduce the works in any form without the permission of the copyright holder (or their appointed agent). Therefore, should you wish to reproduce the text of a hymn in your order of service, you will need the permission of the copyright holder for which a charge of between £10 and £25 is usually made.
You will find details of the copyright holder at the bottom of each hymn's page, although many of the hymns are out of copyright due to their age.
Please note, you do not need the copyright holder's permission if you are only singing the hymns, since a wedding is a private function. It is only if you wish to print the hymn words (for example on an order of service) that permission is required.
so page number in the hymn book sounds good to me !

did you realise the same person wrote one more step and lord of the dance ?

bloomin heck - didnt even think about this as I typed the words out to my three hymns in my OOS last night
All things bright and beautiful - not under copyright
Morning has broken - permission needed (and no doubt some cash will have to be handed over but the copyright holders website does not mention songs, just poets and writers)
Lord of the dance - £10 squid plus VAT.
aargh, rubbish!0
