Hello Girls, just want to say hello as we have finally booked our wedding for Saturday 23rd April!! Very excited, just in a bit of a panic about how we're going to get everything done in time!!
Oooooh! You are in good company as Bride2be24 has said! :j
I have been a bit down this last few days, been feeling bit overwhelmed with it all - around the wedding I will also be moving 400 miles, so need to pack up my house, make it rent out-able, and find a new job, as well as all the wedding stuff, and its all got a bit much for me! H2B is already away, as he is in the forces, and there was no point really in me moving before the wedding as we wouldnt get quarters, and it was going to be quite complicated with work and stuff!
However..........I am off to a big wedding exhibition with my Mum tomorrrow, and have a wee list of the bits and bobs that I need to get. We were at it last year and saw some lovely things - hair accessories, jewellery etc, so am planning on buying this year!
We are also finishing off the wedding invites tomorrow so they can be posted at the beginning of the week.
I need to get my wedding mojo back! Its not that I dont want to get married btw, I cannot wait to be the wife of my fabulous hubby :j
I am hoping that the wedding exhib, and getting the invites out will kick start me again!0 -
Aw, thanks for welcoming me! I know what you mean about feeling overwhelmed, sometimes there just seems like too much to do in so little time. Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate at the mo too. I sometimes need my h2b to put things into perspective for me as I wind myself up too much about things.0

Well got one more thing ticked off the list yesterday by buying the wedding rings. Got them from HSamuel and I dont think very MSE (we could have searched and maybe bought elsewhere) but they were the cheapest we could see (H2B refused to go into argos).
Bought another pair of shoes from Jones the Bootmaker (half price - £30), so now have 4 pairs to decide between, although suspect will send two pairs back to debenhams. These shoes are a beige/mushroom colour as didnt want ivory.
Also ordered my chapel length veil from ebay £25.99 - and its being custom made!
H2B and I cant agree on bible readings for the service though, he has chosen a really weird one about children, plus its quite short. hrmph.0 -
It is 3 months today for me.
I think I might pop with the excitement!0 -
Hi peeps,
well I'm meant to be making the last of the invites, but I'm just having a glass of wine and a read through of what everyones been doing before starting
I need to design our evening invites, finish off the day invites and hopefully post them out this week, decide which canapes we are going to have and..actually lots! I'm now going to put my mahoooosive to do list in an order so I know what needs doing and when!
oh-I've also just ordered a £50 itunes voucher with points I earned from my fuel card. I think the most time consuming job we have left is to pick and download tunes we are going to have playing before/in between and after the band. Very MSE though, as it was free :money:0 -
I'm all go this weekend! Finished the last of my luggage style favour tags yesterday, found a hairdresser and booked a trial, emailed my photographer, emailed the humanist, decided to have a hen night and got some names together for that! Also have filled in my forms for the registrar ready to be submitted in about a fortnight (different in Scotland)
Also sorted my BM dresses this week and OH has picked a day for kilt fitting and Stag do so things are really starting to come together!!
Still the small matter of being about 2k short of cash but I'm sure I'll find it somewhere!
Invites went out Monday and I've had one RSVP! Also told mil if she doesn't fill hers in shes not getting fed rofl0 -
wowo csh you've done loads! We have finally managed to get ourselves a florist so only the dj, photographer, decorations, evening invites, wedding rings.... etc etc etc to do! I'm sure April 23rd seemed ages away before christmas and now it feels 5 minutes away!
We're setting ourselves one or two jobs per weekend to get done - doesn't seem quite so scary then!0 -

April did seem very far off in December when I put the planning on hold but as soon as January came I was panicking that its only about 14ish weeks away now! Considering I want to have most of it done and dusted at least a fortnight before I thought I should get a wriggle on!
Still got a fair bit to do incl sorting out my evening guest list and getting those invites out, getting shoes for BM's accessories for them and me, get my DS kilt sorted, finalise the music choices and the dreaded table plan!! Plus lots more bits and pieces!
Its all good tho, we'll all get there in the end!
I do a lot in the evening when he baby is in bed and so far I've planned almost everything from the comfort of my sofa with my trusty laptop and the aid of google! In fact I think its only my shoes I went to a real shop for...!0 -
I sent my invites last Monday second class with large letter stamps so in theory they would get there safely.
My sister has still not received hers!! I hope it comes in the next couple of days and I really hope everyone elses has made it! I only know about hers as she knew I was posting them and thought I'd forgot hers lol0
