Hi Everyone,
Hope you dont mind me joining in as I am to be married March 5th not April ,no seperate forum for march brides :-(. For me thats less than 8 weeks to go.
I live in Shropshire and I was lucky enough to find my dream dress which is Alfred Angelo at a shop called simply brides at a really cool price (this is a barnados that stock ex display and end of line dresses). I also hand made the invites and sent them out this week, cost us approx £50 and I got all material from ebay, the only thing I am struggling with now is a design for our cake as I am not sure what to do, we are having 3 no square fruit cakes made but as yet do not have a stand and i am not sure if these can just be stacked on top of each other!! I have loved reading your stories on this thread and couldnt help but join in as I am soooo excited x:jGetting married 5th March 2011:j0 -

Seriously, Landy will be a disappointment. Have a look at my experience:

They got the bottom half of the dress right but the top of it. Oh my. It's like they gave up and couldn't be bothered.
I spent £240 quid on that. Don't even ask about the colour of it. Then secured an IS sample, mint condition of a different dress for £300. Could not be happier. Now we laugh about the Landy dress.
I think you may be too late to order from Landy, but please don't anyway. They can't copy IS dresses well as the fabric they are made from and the detailing is far superior to anything they could ever do.0 -
O M G Thanks Gleeful on something as special as Flora I can just imagine how bad they might have done it!!!
Where did you get your sample from and what size are you (if you don't mind me asking) as most of them seem to be 10's or 12's. £300 is a perfect price for me god where do I start !! Which sample did you get?Married the love of my life on 28th April 2011 :T

Morning All,
Welcome Terri 35, I can't believe there isn't a March thread-feel free to vent your excitment here, we can do exciting
Thank you Sammr, that is really helpful, I'm going to copy it down to use as a starter for our timings!
Becks-I'll keep an eye out for your dress too, did a bit of a serch on shops near me, but no luck so far. I know I said it before, but do look at other dresses, I had my heart stuck on a Benjamin Roberts dress then went into a local one-man (lady!)-band shop near where I work and found a one-off never-to-be-repeated ex sample dress that is perfect. I tried on the Benjamin Roberts dress again and it came no where near the dress I'm now getting. Plus I have the added bonus that no one else will ever have my dress!

I'm glad my timings helped. Got to thank my venue for that, they even suggested we move the ceremony forward to 1 instead of 1.30 so that things aren't rushed and we can relax more
Well its only 87 days to go here and I've gone from being super calm, chilled about everything, into a psycho!! As soon as we hit 3 months to go on Sunday I've gone slightly nuts and I'm starting to panic about everything lol most of its my own fault like, not started dieting yet :S, no flower girls dresses, heard nothign from the church and yet we need to start organising banns!! I'm getting stressed just thinking about it!!! (and breathe Samm!!) Our invites still aren't out! I'm in the process of making them, but as soon as I think the wording is right I think of something else that maybe I should have on them!! I did post a seperate thread showing my wording for the invites and got very little response.
Anyway I'm just rambling here, I hope everyone elses plans are going well. Terri, I can't believe u've not had a thread for March, Please come join us, the more the merrierFeel free to share all the wonderful details, I will speak for all of us when I say, we're rather nosey :P

Hi Sammr85 - Just to let you know my banns at 2 churches (we are marrying outside our parish) have been organised for a few weeks now. We got the emails in december from both churches and they are running through March with 2 sundays where banns are being read at both churches. You may need to chase this up as its a bit of a nightmare if they dont get read in time!
Got my first RSVP back yesterday!0 -

Mrs 31 to be's family and I have got a little sweepstake going on to see who will be the first to respond and who will be the last... Invites went out second class monday so I'm hoping people will get them today...
Someone asked the other day what, if any, input i had in them... Well, Mrs 31 to be's friend's Mom works in design and printing, so said she'd make them for us... Our photographer is a lady who we know through my brother in law (he lived with her and her husband and kids for a year). she is not a pro photographer in that she earns through it, she is a full time mom but has done a degree or something in photography. So the family came down in October to hang out for a weekend, and photographer lady suggested doing a wee photoshoot so she can learn how we respond to her, she can learn how we photograph well, and to get some images to use for various things. so we got some photos at the place I engaged (a park on a hill overlooking the city we live in) and then we got my dog and went to a quiet woodland not far from where I live, so she got some photos of us with the dog too (he's very photogenic). I chose a photo of us walking away from the camera to go on the invite, and Mrs 31 to be chose the rest (colours and daisies etc).
With the rest of the photos I have made a photobook on iPhoto which will be a guestbook to be signed at the reception0
