Bridal shops might have it in stock and be willing to sell it to you cheaper, I don't think many people actually buy Ian Stuart dresses because they are quite expensive (I got offered £1k off a £4k Ian Stuart dress because it was the sample). It might be worth ringing round shops that stock Ian Stuart to see if they have an ex sample?

I have been waiting for ribbon and parcel tags to arrive so we can finish our invitations..I found them last night on our boiler by the backdoor-postie had forgotten to tell us!! So tonight I shall hopefully be finishing them off and can post them in the next couple of weeks :)

    MM2B-Holy Factor-I love it! :rotfl:

my better half found a dress and fell in love with it, but it cost... more than my car... so she found a website where ladies sell them second hand, she picked it up, worn only once, for £400. The previous bride threw in shoes, a bag, a hula hoop or something (im hoping a bag of ready salted hula hoops) as part the deal... I'll ask her what the website was...

Ok ladies (&gent :P) so do you recall me having dress wobblies when I have already got a sparkly one from the bay of E. Well they have just got 10 x worse as I have fallen in love. And its going to cost me. Have emailed Landy asking for their help.

The dress I have fallen for was on The Wedding House - Its Ian Stuart - Flora and its wonderful I adore it and would even consider surgery just to get in it (am size 16) I sooo help Landy can help for a decent price. Does ANYONE know of ANYONE else who could make this?????

    hheeellpppp

Mrs 31 to be says to try www.sellmyweddingdress.com or www.sellyourweddingdress.com

WBA31 tell Mrs 312b thank you very much, they actually do have it on there in a size 10 and for £1200 so no where near my size and far too expensive but at least if I want to see it I can ask the lady selling it.

Magicboo, that is precisily what I am doing (great minds think alike eh..:p), have called Ian Stuart and its discontinued so am now ringing round every store to see if they have the sample they would like to sell. I am on such a mega diet now its daft as need to get down to at least a twelve to be able to hopefully pick it up cheaper as it appears only skinny girls bought this :( So Yorkshire and Nottingham to go only 14 more pages....

Landy have said they can make it but omg am soo worried about the quality and the cost of them making it.

Maybe if I speak to Lindaatno9 she may be able to help.....

oh well trust me to fall for something I cannot have :( and with only 4 months to go and counting....

Becks-from what I've heard, Lindaatno9 can do amazing things... Perhaps you should keep looking at other dresses though for the moment, just in case the worse-case scenario happens?
Has anyone started looking at the timing of the day yet? I appreciate that everything takes longer at a wedding and when you have lots of people to organise, but my family want us to sit down to our meal 4-4:30 and reckon we won't be ready for evening guests until 8-8:30. I can't believe a 2 course meal and speeches will take that long and I don't want people to get bored! Can we start the band before the evening guests arrive if things start looking a bit quiet? I am pretty relaxed about the day running late, but I don't want bored guests because we're running early!!

Magicboo, must admit we have been thinking about timings, cause we are the same in not wanting to have a gap in the middle of the proceedings... We have set the date but not the time of the wedding as trying to figure out whether to have a late wedding and have everyone all together or to get go for the day/evening do seperate...

Ha, I am MSE's resident Ian Stuart expert!

Ian Stuart is very popular, expensive, but popular. Keep an eye on ebay. Try bridal shops for sample dresses. If the dress is discontinued then I'm not sure what to suggest.

Another thing, Ian Stuart dresses are incredibly hard to plan a wedding around. Believe me, I've done it. The colour and the style of most of them is hard to accessorise. I found most things looked cheap next to my dress!

Also, don't buy from Landy. They can't make replica copies of IS dresses for toffee. Don't make an expensive mistake.

    Have booked our honeymoon tonight!
