    Hi All,
I have posted 2 things on here ove the last couple of days, and niether of them have shown up :(
    So, third time lucky...
MM2B-I missed you! Glad you're back!
Fly-welcome to the great April board, sorry about your first wedding, at least you have something to look forward to now, rather than dwelling on last time.
Gleeful-those pics are cool! What a novel idea!
We have a million things to do now, hopefully we will get to London this week to sort out the engagement and wedding rings. I am trying to find the impetus to put together our invitations, I think it will be a long old process! However we do have our wine glass charms finished now, so at least something is done!
I am going to look through all your lists and compose my own one I think! I'm hoping saying the wedding is "this year" will spur us into action-we are just convinced it's AGES away!

I went to the bridal shop today and got my shawl sorted out, it's being made to match my dress. Ordered a petticoat too.
Went to the MAC counter, Urban Decay and Benefit and bought some makeup to experiment with - I am doing my own as very confident in doing it.
    Ordered the bridesmaid pashminas.
Gave invites that can be hand delivered.
    Still to sort:
    Booking mens suits
Flowers and venue decorations - although these are sorted in my head
Favours - chasing up the ones that got sent back
    Send out invites
List all the wedding stuff I don't need on ebay!

had a bizzare but mse day shopping. went into H&M and managed to get 3 pale pink short sleeve shugs for my BMs (£5 each) and went to monsoon to see if any shoes and ended up with this feather capelet which was marked down from £60 to £15 - hence weird as its not reduced on the website!

I can only think that they were stock from last year which didnt get sold. The shoe hunt continues... for anyone else looking john lewis have a lot of rainbow club shoes half price at moment, none the right height or style for me unfortunately.

OMG-I am MEGA jealous! They would be perfect for my BM's-I've been searching for cheaper ones! I might have to search some monsoon shops over the weekend! We are off to the diamond quarter in London tomorrow to look at engagement and wedding rings, but the H2B recieved his tax bill today so I think we will only be looking now, not buying :(

Hi Ladies, may I join in?

We have been engaged for years but have finally set the date 28th April 2011!! And now for the hardpart, apart from making sure the important people know when the date is for getting time off work, we have done....nothing. Well except for booking the date and venue but not menus, have bought a dress on ebay but now thinking its not the one, can't find any shoes I like, the lady I wanted to do my hair has left (I don't go very often) but she was the only one I trusted - wierd lack of any idea what to do with my bonce...

We have a rough list of people but I guess my problem is I never envisaged myself getting married, I was the tomboy who was never gonna walk down that aisle and now I have this to arrange which would be easy if I knew what the hell it was I wanted. My lovely OH is happy to go along with anything I want to do but...I don't know what I want.

We took a week trip to Italy to scope out venues and in each one we found reasons not to do it there until we ended up, whilst in Venice (where we got engaged) deciding to get wed at the church at the end of our street.

This year I have been made redundant twice which hasn't helped the finances but thanks to my wonderful pops we really only have to find cash for what we and BM's will be wearing and the photographer. The venue and food should be paid for.

We aren't having a honeymoon as we are skint so the cost of that is a weight off although it is a shame. Anyway, sorry to go on a bit its just that as of Saturday we only have 4 months to go...eeeeeeek

ooh congratulations Becks and how kind of your dad to pay for a lot of it. Weddings are expensive make no mistake. If you are not sure about your dress, now is the time to hit the bridal dress shops and see if you can get something there. Be very clear to them what your budget is though. I nearly bought a gorgeous dress for £200 so if money is tight it can be done. Plus you get to try on a few different styles to see what suits you. If you are not fussy about the colour and style the bridesmaids are wearing then perhaps they wouldnt mind buying or contributing to their own outfits? That way they can choose something they all like and will use again. Again now is the time to do it as there are loads of fab dresses and party shoes in the sales.

I am on the 30th April - it is getting pretty close.... eek!
  • AARCHK - those fluffy bolero things are LUSH! Bargain too. Im on the 30th April too!! Its scarily close

Oh no Magicboo - at least you can go and get an idea of what you want?

Congrats Becks, you ahve come to the right place with help with planning!! Where abouts are you based so we can suggest some things? x

    Morning ladies,

Just went on You and your wedding, and saw that my wedding is in 98 days! We still haven't got enough people on our guest list at the moment (we need 40 as we've paid for 40 people for our reception), so I need to make some more friends. lol

We've got friends and my parents coming for New Year tonight, so I need to get going with the tidying, but I'm aware of the fact that I need to get the invitations out soon, as I expect the extra bank holiday for W&C will mean people will take holidays then, as they don't have to take so many days as leave. (Our reception is on 22nd April after we get back from honeymoon - we're marrying in Jamaica.) I guess you all must be thinking the same thing as a lot of you are getting married around that time.

Any ideas on how I should word my reception invites, as I'll have been married for a couple of weeks by the time we have it?

Hope everyone enjoys their New Years celebrations tonight.

    Thanks ladies :)

I am in Castle Donington, near Derby/Nottingham/Leicester.

We were going to be the 30th but somebody had already nabbed our venue, Kate and Wills getting married on the Friday meant we had another bank hol so thought we might as well do it on the Thursday! I know it makes no sense but at least I knew we'd get the venue :p

AARCHK those boleros are fabulous was looking for something for the top of my dress but being nesh I wanted something long sleeved. Lets face it girls, in April we could have rain/snow/gales as well as the hoped for sunshine :p

On the rings front my OH has found his at Goldsmiths and we are exchanging vouchers to pay for it
Have an idea what I want but think will go to Birmingham and see what they can do.
