It seems I've cought the bog roll bug! Just been in to Leighton Buzzard for some bits and popped into Iceland. They had the triple velvet which I HAVE NEVER BOUGHT as its sooooo expensive. They had packs of 9 with 3 free so 12 packs reduced from £4.25 to £3 and I had 5 £1 off coupons from a mailing promo a while ago................................so 60 "posh" bog rolls for £10.
be careful or your bum might get used to the luxury ;)

I now only get BOGOF's when they are a good deal and I need them, as my best and silliest buy was some smoked salmon slices. They were BOGOF's at Sainsbury's, plus they were reduced from £1.99 to 20p (yes 20p) so I bought loads and froze them. It worked out that they were paying me to take them away LOL (twas before they realised how we shoppers could abuse the system;) )

So I've now got a freezer shelf full of salmon slices :o It was a very silly buy cos my OH is a veggie and I'm not that keen on salmon - so my DD2 has got the whole lot to herself. It was also silly as fish doesn't keep that long - even frozen fish - so it may end up being slung out

I may yet learn that a bargain is only a bargain if you needed the product in the first place

Yup, I just started shopping online at tesco for my food. I always check the offers first to see what they have. I always stock up on the bogoffs if it is something I use.

Its a system which requires a little bit of an investment in cash from me as I get stuff im not going to use for a month or two but when it saves me money in the long term.

First post was brilliant though. Well spotted on that loophole hehe.

    The infamous Beef in Gravy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brought me to this site last September and has paid for my MFI furniture with Tesco.

I had a freezer full of the stuff and have only recently finished it all.

Yep it paid for my lovely Shreiber MFI kitchen, complete with all appliances and a midi sleeper for my son. All for about a grand. Bought nearly 1700 packets of it.
Filled 2 chest freezers, gave away to friends and family and gave away about 1000 of them to homeless shelters and womens refuges. Was sick of eating it rather quickly but OH accidently switched off the power to the shed. Two nights later i went into get some for the tea and it was all defrosted!

Funnily enough we still had all of our receipts and our insurance gave us about £700 so our kitchen cost us next to nought. :money:

Does anyone remember the Harvester meal for a £1 when you bought a pack of shredded wheat? Well we stocked up on them, must have bought loads of boxes as we were going to harvester about once a fortnight for months. I don't really like shredded wheat so DH was left to eat them! Gave a load to family too!

Also stocked up on loads of Linda McCartney meals (as by collecting four tokens you could send of for a £5 kumala wine voucher/ great as the meals were only a £1 each) Each time we would get back from shopping it would be like crypton factor trying to fit them all in the freezer! Really miss that offer!

There was a special offer last aug/sep in Tescos for Birds Eye Ready Meals. If you bought 3 you got 150 clubcard points (i think? it may have been 200). The beef in gravy was single portions and was only 67p at the time. If you convert your points into deals tokens then you get 4 times the amount, so you made a huge profit on what you were spending. So if you spend just over £2 on 3 packets of beef then you got say 150 points, converted into deal vouchers (for MFI etc) you got £6.

    Hi

Years ago Asda we doing a BOGOF offer with pasta and due to a clitch in their system they actually gave you more money back for the second pack of pasta IYSWIM! So we had pasta everywhere and each time we went into Asda we stocked up our trolley with the weekly shop and loads of pasta for hardly any money at all - fantastic!!!
