hi.. tibbie's mum.... in my local tescos... they do their final reductions between 6.30 - 7.30 and as people know the time people are waiting round the reduced section waiting for the sa to come.... also on a sunday about 1.30 the same..... so it might be worth you going to your local supermarket about that time and see......it is also worth asking an sa what time they do their final reductions.......but dont bank on them....as you can have loads one day, and there will be nothing the next.....but make the most of it when they do......i have had bread at 3p a loaf.....and also watch out... with the reduced stuff if they are bogof or a promotion like £1.00 off if you buy 2.. most of the time this will also kick in when they are reduced as well......

good luck............and happy thrifty..buying.....get stocking up on those bargins....

Out local Asda has shut today, new store opens tomorrow, there were a few bargains but nothing outstanding, bread for 30 p a loaf but my freezer is full so no good to me.

I only buy certain things when they are on BOGOF or some kind of reduced offer, these include loo rolls, tea, coffee, washing tablets, dishwasher tablets, wine to name but a few. My DH refitted the cupboards from my old kitchen in the utility room to make storage space for this kind of thing, we have 3m x 3m ( 3 runs of cupboards stacked on top of each other )on one wall and 2m x 2m on the other, the rest of the room is taken up with washer TD & huge upright freezer. I have a large stash of BOGOF King prawns and scampi in the freezer.

Not nearly as mad as some of these :T but when Iceland had that deal a couple of weeks ago for the Nescafe Half Caff I dragged the OH along and started piling them into our basket. He was a bit confused until I pointed out they were a pound each and I'm sure we have enough now to last about 3 years.

This thread has really made me laugh!!

I am also in the stock of loo-roll club! Even my neighbour comments on this as he sees me trying to get it all in the house!

If I see anything that I know I will use I always stock up. Shampoo, deodorant, washing-up liquid, tomato ketchup (hate the stuff but hubby has it will every meal), tuna, rice, pasta.....basically anything that won't go off.

My friend and I had been to B&Q one sunday afternoon to buy garden bits. We called into Tesco just before they closed to buy some ice lollies as it was a hot day. My friend stayed in the car and was amazed to see me come out with 2 whole salmon @ £1.50 each. Oh I bought the ice lollies as well.

I have about 10 shower gels, from various offers - an yves rocher one which was on this site, some posh sets that were from boots after xmas, about £2.50 instead of £20, so i can pamper myself guilt free! OH has cottoned on to the habit and bought 4 or so gift sets of toiletries after xmas in the co-op near his workplace. People have been really pleased with their birthday pressies!
A friend does Avon and she must think i have a perspiration problem. I always wait til the deodorant is on offer then buy at least 3, well thats one for each bathroom and one for my gym bag, so I think I'd better order more next time.
I have about 10 bars of soap too, I like nice ones like coconut, then I like them to much to use them :(

If you like the coconut ones have you seen the coconut range on Yves Rocher? I bought the bath soak, body milk and perfume.

  • I have 20 bottles of Robinson Barley fruit downstairs. Was BOGOF in Morrisons the past two weeks. :o
  • I had a voucher for 800 Boots points for spending over £16 on baby products. Unfortunately I don't have a baby - or any need for anything other than babywipes, which were on BOGOF. I couldn't carry the 18 packs of babywipes I needed, so enlisted the help of my OH, who flatly refused to be a part of it and left me standing in the store with three full baskets of the things :o(

Dont know if anyone experienced the downside to hoarding loo rolls ... we got mice! This was in the time of the on pack free cinema voucher (over 2 years ago). I was selling the vouchers on ebay for more than the cost of the packs of loo roll in Kwik Save. Stored the loo rolls in the shed, mice had a lovely time making nests in them.

Got some good advice on here about getting rid of mice!
