Seing as you have no real input the this post, you're just trying to make things personal as you have been shot down as everything you have said has been both ridiculous and incorrect.
And if you would actually read my post, this didn't happen today, smarty pants.
Thats me off to bed
Good luck with the motor mate.0 -
So i'm not really sure on the conclusion of this now as it has gone way too far due to some people...
I may be able to take this to court without incurring court fees as i'm a full time student? Also depending on household income?0 -

Possibly, I would be contacting the dogs owner... he's liable from what I can see, try to come to some arrangement with hm.
The house contents thing is worth checking out. Small claims is really a last resortAlways try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -

This is really a matter for your insurance company to sort out, in the first instance. That's one of the reasons we have insurance. There's an incident; we make a claim against the insurance. Our insurers will attempt to get the money from the other party, where they are deemed to be (part) responsible.
You should let your insurers deal with this. If they fail to recover your losses, then you can consider alternative action.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

even if you have to pay, it's only tens of pounds, against recovering hundreds, but that's if he can pay, if not it's only a few more pounds lost, so it's got to be worth it either way.0 -

I have been in contact with him, this is when he told me that he had no money to pay for it and then intended to borrow £100 to give me... Which doesn't really help me much, but it's £100 towards to 7-£800 that i'm ending up paying with doing all the work myself. It's been a month now and i've missed university open days etc because i don't want to drive the car as it is, which is rather annoying.
Also having to cancel a number of other events i had planed such as the military training simulation at Copehill Down... -Sigh-0 -

that would mean making a claim, and possibly losing the no claims if they can't recover.0 -

Yes this is possible... I will speak to my Mum tomorrow about it because i really need my money back!
Not sure if this would mean me losing out on my no claims if they fail to recover the money, i'll call tomorrow and ask...0 -
Maybe you could grow up and face your responsibilities; today you killed a dog because you were driving so fast when it ran out in front of you....
By his account the OP was driving within the speed limit.
The owner of the dog exercising it off a lead so close to a main road was either:
a) Too stupid to realise,
or
b) Too uncaring to be bothered
that a collision between a 1 ton piece of metal travelling at ANY significant speed and an animal was likely to kill or maim it.
Others have asked how the OP thinks the owner is feeling to-night, he should be feeling like !!!!!!, his irresponsible behaviour led to his dogs death. I speak as the loving owner of 2 dogs, I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I was so irresponsible about their welfare! I certainly wouldn't be blaming the driver, unless they'd done something wrong which, in this case, there is no indication.
OP ignore the ones flaming you, others have given sound advice.0
