Congratulations on the job Gleeful!! Just in time for the summer holidays, you'll have 6 weeks to celebrate (and get over the shock)
Screamer could you check out any of the local hotels? I know when I was looking there was somewhere quite pretty in Bradford that came up for west yorkshire, although I don't know the area too well. Or the council should have details of licensed venues on their site?0 -
Hope I'm not butting in in the wrong place here, but I am SOOOOO chuffed I'm gonna burst and needed to tell someone!! :j:j:j
Ive found a wonderful lady, a retired needlework teacher who now works as a dressmaker, who can take in my overly big but beautiful bargain Maggie Sottero dress and is not going to charge the earth for it - she is such a lovely lady, we hit it off and she was recommended by another bride who said she was a sweetheart, a great dressmaker and very reasonable. :T
I was so very worried that I had bought a dress too big to be alterable, but it was such a steal and so lovely I got it, but then I was scared in case it wasn't do-able. Ive never seen another dress that I liked so much but simply couldnt afford it full price (this one was a sample I got at a wedding fair, but I think the 14 on the label may be American sizing cos I take a 12-14 and it was huge!)
I also got these lovely shoes in the next sale for £12 today so I am well smug!!! Happy happy happy!:D0 -
Love the shoes BarbC, if I could wear heels I'd be out looking for those! No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Why are you whispering? Congratulations, now get some pics up!
I was at my mums at the weekend and ended up trying my dress on again at midnight on Friday, while slighlty drunk. Still happy with it though there are a few pulls in the floaty outer layer (chiffon or organza?) and there are a few beads missing.
It was a sample and the straps are a bit grubby - not sure what to do about cleaning it. Anyone any advice - should I wait till after its altered or clean it first, or does it not really matter. I'll try and get 2 pics of it up. Off I go......If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0 -

This is one of the very VERY rare occasions where I will say that it looks better on me than on the model! It suits my figure much better. I got it in a sample sale reduced from £750 to £499.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0
