Wow last year when my OH asked me to marry him and i said yes (obviously) and started planning there and then for this year, everyone told me i was mad planning so far in advance. It seems everyone on here is planning years and years in advance.
dont forget to leave something to do and be excited about for nearer the time as well. i saw on here someone had got their dress for something like 2 years time, which is ace and im sure she loves it but what happens if you see something you like more in those 2 years, loose weight, put weight on or just change your mind. just a thought. it does all sneek up really fast though.
im assuming Nessie's big day end of July? am i close?
Thank you to all posters0 -
i thought it might be then too because of the final dress fitting as per sig!
im planning this far because i have to save up for the big day and itll take us this long to do it!
and although you can plan and plan its not really until the last couple of months to go that things really need doing/finalising
no im not getting my dress yet
i havnt the money! xI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -

The big day is 27th August - I am hoping my final dress fitting is 6 weeks before the day - i have lost nearly 2st since i brought it! But they assured me that alterations can be done for big weight losses! Fingers Crossed
Monkey - i'm sure you will be fine - you sound really prepared, bet you getting excited! Hope you will post pics on here for us to see!
Not sure of size of biggest cheese - still haven't ordered it! Need to talk to OH - it is for him really - he loves cheese - just hope he can cut back on it a bit before then!0 -
ummm cheese. i love cheese too. yummy
well done on your weight loss. i have managed to put on 2stone since gettng my dress and my bridesmaid lost nearly 2 so we had to have her dress altered. mine just doesnt look as good but not a lot i can do about it, luckily it laces up rather than zip. have been trying just nothing happening, even moved in with my parents to stop the chocolate and take away eating, my mum and OH have lost half a stone....stil nothing for me! grr
im getting more excited it has to be said.
you wont be long August will soon creep up on you
Thank you to all posters0 -
Thank you - it hasn't been easy - but i haven't been starving myself - slimming world is brilliant - if you still wanted to loose weight - even after the big day - i reccommend you go to a group - there is so much you can eat and i still have a takeaway every weekend (sometimes 2!) and most days i still have chocolate!
I'm sure your dress will look gorgeous on you
I know it will creep up on me - not too worried - just concerned about the reception - OH not inviting that many family/friend and i reckon my family/friends make up 80 - 90% of the people coming (well... inviting!) and he doesn't like dancing! So it will be just me and my mates on the dance floor!
Lots of little things! Sure they will be ok in the end, but still worrying beforehand!0 -
yep done that, done everything , slimming world is good, mum still goes thats why we moved in as she cooks us SW food.
we have 111 guests.
your right it is the little things but there has to be a point when you say, if i havnt got it now then it cant matter that much lol

Lol, that's me! I've completley stopped looking at dresses so I don't see anything else! And I've been a size 12 for the past 8 years, since I was 17, so don't see myself changing now really.
Am totally going to run out of things to do nearer the time though! Already have a photographer sorted, cake sorted (both are being done by family friends), rough guest list is done, have a short list of venues (but OH refuses to go looking til we have the deposit saved lol). I just love wedding planning so much, OH keeps saying can I not just enjoy being engaged just now, but I am enjoying all the planning!0
