Ooh, fingers crossed you get it bubbles!
Just got the receipt for our venue deposit, so it's all confirmed now

Hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised with your venue - when we booked ours (last August, we booked it) they did us a deal on the price of the evening buffet and knocked off a few other bits & pieces, which brought it under budget.
A good venue wedding coordinator is invaluable, in my opinion!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Ooo i remember when we were trying to find a venue. You should all keep a book of what you are doing at each stage and treasure every little tiny moment of "Woop Woop" as the day creeps up so fast if you blink you forget the feeling of excitment you get at every little thing

Thank you to all posters0 -

Good idea - plus it'd help me stay organised :beer:0 -

You have to look at many designers and their price tags and know that if they have premesis and staff that will reflect in the price. They have overheads and have to pass the costs over somewhere.
Then there are folk like me who work at home so have very little overheads. (ok, electricity but that's Jeremy Kyle's fault when I can tolerate him!)
The mag feature I was in caused interest to one of my clients. She said the mere mention of bespoke and knew this was going to blow her budget. She wants 3x vintage inspired bridesmaids gowns. After a few e mails, she said she nearly fell off her chair when I came in with a price. So, I was comissioned.
I love my job. I get up on a morning and know I am being paid for something I adore. I earn a bit but I'm certainly not out to extorte because the tag says wedding. There are loads of people out there like me, you gotta dig a bit.
You can go offshore if you like, but in my experience if you find a good dressmaker with a passion for her work, someone who is concientious about the craft, it'll blow the socks off anything you get made abroad. And, you'll have a much better product in the long run.
xx

Having a major think in our camp. Do we do it next summer on a much smaller budget or the year after as originally planned with a bigger budget?
Part of me says, we want to be marrried, do it sooner and then focus on saving for a house. But part of me wants the fairytale romantic day
