a friend offered to make cupcakes for us if we want individual cakes instead of a wedding cake and another friend's mum has started a chocolate company and is keen to start doing favours! So nice of people to want to get involved
Aw that's really nice - I'm hoping to get a few helping hands myself.
Regarding tthe cupcakes - home baked ones are nicer imo.
I've been to 3 weddings where they've had cupcakes, two of which were ordered in from a cake company. Both times these cupcakes were really dry & dissapointing. Plus they were so massive that very few people ate the whole cake, which made for a lot of waste.
On the other hand, the ones that were made by a friend were moist as they were done on the night before, plus they weren't giant cupcakes, so they got eaten up whole0 -
Hey guys,
Like Bubbles, i have been having strange wedding dreams, the first one was me at a really strange place for the reception, then last nights one was i forgot to put on my wedding shoes & was wearing bright yellow flats & H2B didn't want to do the first dance so ended up dancing with my mates lil sister!!!
Might be because i need to send out my evening invitations by Friday and haven't had time to do them yet, might stay up late to do some tonight!
Can anyone recommend where i can get a wedding 'cheese' cake? Venue has okayed that we can have one and given me prices for crackers, grapes, celery & relishes. H2B really wants one! Still having a traditional & choclate one mind you, i think i will have the whole chocolate one to myself!
Think most other things are getting sorted, going to get flowers from eBay (silk), anyone know where i can get a tiara from (needs to either have burgandy in it or just silverish)0 -
Hello everyone,
first time i have been no this thread. im getting married in 24 days, not like im counting or anything. We are doing lots of things at the same time as planning the wedding including selling my house and totally renovating a new home.
think im on top of everything though
the only annoying thing is the 3 couples who just refuse to advise if they are coming or not. i sent out invites and asked RSVP by 1st March, have chased and chased. Told them if they do not let me know either way by today, im assuming they are not coming. These people are my OH's work people so i do not have contacts for them but he has been chasing, its the only thing annoying me about the whole wedding.
the hen night on the other hand has been a nightmere to organise. thats not this saturday coming but the one after and im keeping my fingers crossed the minibus actually turns up to take us! anyone else used National Minibus Hire? i think they are based in Manchester.
Thank you to all posters0 -
hi and welcome monkey
wow you dont do things by halves do you!
i would totally ignore the people who havent RSVP now and if they do have the gall to turn up ask the usher(or whoever) to turn them away as they are not down on the list!
no ive not heard of the minibus people sorry, fingers crossed for you!
so what type of wedding are you having? whats your dress like?
and whats everythiing else??
can ya tell i love weddings?:rotfl:

and then the band and disco in turn dong sets

whole thing finishing at 1pm
my dress is very boring and very plain, no train, off white shoulderless and simple. i have got a long vail to give a look of a train down the aisle
we are in Mexico for honeymoon gone all out on that
whole thing is costing £14,000 and we are paying but my mum has paid for my dress £400 and flowers for me and my 1 bridesmaid and my dad had paid for the wedding car, a white Jag

Oh and while im here, hope this is ok to ask on here?
planning to do some little goody bags for the hennight to give them on the bus to keep them entertained for the 3 hour drive. Any ideas of what i can put in them? my girles (& 2 boys in drag) and not very outgoing really, not great fans of getting wasted and making fools of themselves etc. i have put in so far (there are 14 so needs to be cheap things) bridesmaid sash in her bag, bubbles, stretchy man, mini pinball game, magic fish, willy straws. will also be putting in some arrow root bisquits for the preggy one and little bag of sweets.
any other thoughts and any links to cheap things?
Thank you to all posters0 -
