I had done the invite from my daughter to explain:
'Miss Babyfrannyann invites Miss little friend, and her parents to join her at the wedding of her Mum and Step Father to celebrate at 7.30pm at xxx'

I had included her parents as I felt that there wouldn't be anyone to actually supervise them so they could come along too. But apparently 'its odd for a child to invite another child to a wedding' and her friend has been told she can't go :(

I would be really proud if it were my daughter that had been invited.

If it is any consolation, my babies are 24 & 22, and the older one is giving me away :D

I've just been told I am 'odd' As my wedding is second time around I have a 12 year old daughter from a previous marriage, and as she is a big part of our lives, we felt that as we were inviting all our friends to the evening 'do', we would let her invite two of her friends (to the evening do only) to celebrate with, as she is chief bridesmaid. However the mother of one of her friends has said she will not be able to go as, 'its too odd to be invited to a wedding' I didn't think that it was that strange???

I think she needs a reality check, you have been wonderful and taken your daughters feelings into account (as a true, loving mum does) and poor mini guest's feelings have been crushed and railroaded. Grrrr  it's actually made me angry that she has behaved like that (feel the need to go home and have glass of wine, has been bad work day which I'm sure didn't help with the anger issues :rotfl:)

laura when egg whites wont stiffen it is THEE perfect time for wine!!
you might have to start again as there maybe abit of yolk or something that you cant see mixed in so no matter how long you whisk they will not stiffen!
    good luck x
