Donnygal - sorry to hear of the loss of your dad, thinking of you and your family0

Donny-gal
I am so sorry about your dad.
No word from the estate agent yet about the people who viewed on thursday and were "thinking over the weekend". Maybe they just think really slowly?;)
One of DD friends came over last night as she had been asked to leave the family home (at 16  ).
Made her some dinner and she stayed overnight, had a cooked breakfast and left for school this morning with DD and a packed lunch. Hoping school and relatives can sort things out today. DH worried we will get furious relatives at the door but I checked someone knew where she was overnight and did the best I could in the circs. Pointed out to DH it would do our DD no harm to realise not all families are the same and to be able to help a friend. Fingers crossed that I have not made things worse.
Lovely afternoon so going out for a walk by the river and to get some milk, eggs etc.
Tea will be sausage and mash in onion gravy unless any better quick ideas spring to mind later.
Hugs to all and see you later"This site is addictive!"

I didn't realise you lived in Tadcaster, that was one of our shortlisted places. We looked at 3 there this weekend;)Sealed Pot Challenge Member NO. 853 :j0 -
Good afternoon everyone. But first:
Rant:
Popped into a charity shop today - well several actually thinking I might have a look at cheap clothes to make into things etc
I don't understand how charity shops are regarded as cheap after that little experience. Almost all the clothing was £5+ and not 'designer' that I'd recognise so I found it hard to comprehend, however I guess the other 'tat' I see was cheaper, but still more than I'd want to pay.
At first I thought it was just the shop I was in, but found that cancer research, oxfam, british heart foundation etc were all the same. The last one I went into was an RSPCA shop, brimming with stuff where I picked up a leather man bag for 75p (for my foraging walks)
I'm sure the last time I was in matalan I saw a new work shirt for less than £5 but in the charity shop they were almost £6!
Oxfam also has a 2nd hand book store where prices are a bit steep. Most the books were £4+ :-(Tim0 -
Afternoon all
Got back from the hospital 15 mins ago - waste of time really, I waited over an hour, finally got in to see the consultant - 10 mins later on way home - back in 3 months. :wall:
Froze waiting for the bus then had to freeze again for 20 mins waiting for the second bus so first thing I did was put the kettle on for a coffee, but still cold.
Sandy: Ashley Rose is Home and so is my friends GD :j So really happy about that.
Hope everything goes well with the house x
Elona : It is awful when a 16 year old turns up on your doorstep but I couldn't nor wouldn't turn them away; If anything happened you could never forgive yourself! I hope things get sorted x
floss2: You really are organised:T, don't forget the car though
Tim_n : I know what you mean about the big name charity shops they have got really expensive - I stick to our local hospice shop I get a lot more for my money in there
Still not warm, so off for a nice hot shower that should do the trick.:)
TTFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Afternoon everyone.
Went to toddler group this morning, DD had a whale of a time as did mindee and DS (which I was suprised at - I thought they'd be a bit bored as they are so much older than the majority who attend).
Come back, been fed and watered, quickly put vac round and made a lemon drizzle cake (a slice of which I have just had mmmmmmm it was still nice and warm
).
Have all the ironing from yesterday to sort out and put away and before you know it school run rolls around. I swear I have no idea where all my days go
Tea tonight I think can be a jacket spud or something.
Need to do some planning and general paperwork at some point today. Did 2 months worth of accounts yesterday afternoon. I must not leave it so long next time, once a week and then I'll keep on top of it all
Me and H were discussing the caravan situation (in case you'd missed it we want to buy a touring one and sell our camping stuff etc). Anyway given finances we both decided to leave any purchase til next year. As much as I'd love to go out and blow £15K on the one I like my income will change come September and I think it's a little bit stupid to get into debt just because I don't want to wait. At least this way we can attempt to save as much money towards it so we have to borrow less in the long run. Just hope my H remembers this
we have overspent big style end of Fed and last week
Donnygal - Hugs to you. I am sorry that your dad is no longer around but I hope that he's in a better place xxx
Floss - any chance of seeing a pic of the shoes and/or the dress?
Sandy - crossing my fingers your offer is accepted and that your house move goes smoothly
mummysaver - sorry you've had a stressful morning x hope everything is OK now.
flutterby - enjoy your retail therapy!
Julie - sorry to hear nothing has improved with your DD and her partner. perhaps he won't realise what he's missed until its too late x
Sunnygirl - well done on your work placement :j
N9eav - I don't think you'd want to get your tackle out when it's this cold
brrrrrrrr
Sorry if I've missed anyone off.
Hugs to those that need them. Have a good afternoon OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife
