    Hi there,

Its just my opinion, and im sure you will get plenty of differing views ....

I have tried Lipotrim..and you do get quick results... but it is nothing like Slimfast... You can eat " nothing at all" ..... even drinks are restricted... herbal teas for example -you can have ones made from the leaves of plants but not even the ones made from the fruit/berries, no SF dilute, SF sweets etc and you need them as you get a sticky dry mouth  ..

After the 1st couple of days -you really aren't hungry-but if you eat for "emotional" reasons that won't stop you ;) , and it doesn't make you re-educate your eating patterns either.

If you do go for Lipotrim..watch out for the constipation  ... i have never known such pain and i was using the recommended soluble fibre to stop it  , oh and you get a horrid sweet smelling breath  ..

I did lose quite a lot...but when i stopped it plonked back on (and so did the 3 other people i knew who did it)-so now im doing it on the the good old "old style weight loss thread" -and ok its not as quick, but its been a loss every week -no cravings and not £35 a week :T and this way i have adjusted my way of eating to a way that i can keep up with for the rest of my life:D

hope you find a way of losing weight that works for you .... i know what its like to have that constant battle....you can always come and join us on the Old style weight loss thread ;)

  • Can someone explain exactly what Lipotrim is to me?
I can't seem to find out much about it and their main site doesn't say hardly anything.
Is it a shake style drink or a supplement?

Hi there. I've tried Slimfast in the past but rather put on weight because it wasn't filling enough so I had it in addition to everything else. What worked for me was:

I started eating breakfast. I never used to before cos I thought it was too early and I wasn't hungry etc. However if you make yourself have a small bowl of cereal at least, if possible add a slice of unbuttered toast it keeps you from nibbling those mid-morning snacks and you'll be fine until lunchtime. If you do get hungry before lunchtime eat a banana and an apple. They are surprisingly filling.

Then have a good lunch at lunchtime. I eat what I want but a smaller quantity than normal. No bigger then the size of your fist. If you're still hungry after that then its okay to eat another fist but wait at least 1.5 hours.

Have dinner earlier than normal. If you normally eat dinner at 9, change it to 8. If you normally have it at 10, try 8:30. Gradually aim to have dinner before 7:30. Again, no more than your fist. If still hungry after that then try a fruit cocktail or a banana - something filling but healthy.

Now all the above may sound boring but the key is not to deprive yourself of the foods you love. Allow yourself an occasional treat, e.g. once a weak have a good ice-cream or trifle or whatever you desire. Also your food doesn't have to be only salads and other boring stuff. As long as its no bigger than your fist at each sitting you should be ok.

I think the reason the above worked for me is because its sustainable. I didn't crave anything because I did not cut out my favourites. Once I started seeing results I became enouraged to do other things. e.g. I later cut out bread cos I'm not that fond of sandwiches anyway.

As I started to feel better about my looks I became motivated to excercise. I stopped using the escalator at tube stations and took the stairs. I started doing 100 sit ups 3 x a week. I lost 8 kilos in a few months and thought, hey I could aim for a super body. So now I go to the gym 3 times a week. I do approx. 40 mins each time because I only have my lunch hour slot at work. (I have a baby, work full time and so can't do early mornings or evenings unless hubby gets home before me). While in the gym I do 10 mins warm up on a bike, 20 mins on a cross trainer and another 10 mins doing sit-ups and a few weights and stretches. The gym is bearable for me because I always take my headphones and listen to music while working out. Also sometimes a good TV show is on, eg. Loose women and it makes the time go quickly.

I'm normally starving after gym and tempted to binge so I stuff my face with a couple of clementines and hold off until the next meal.

I allow myself to 'cheat' (thats in addition to my once a week treat) occasionally by munching on a biscotti. I love biscottis.

Sorry for rambling on but for me the above worked. I don't think I really need the gym but I find its making a difference with the areas that need toning.

If someone else has done it this way I'd be interested to know if it worked. Apparently different things work for different ppl when it comes to losing weight.
The reason people don't move right down inside the carriage is that there's nothing to hold onto when you're in the middle.
  • I've tried Slimfast. Easy to stick to at first, but you don't half get bored after a few days!
Try Slimming World! I started on 2nd Jan and have lost 9lbs already!!
The good thing is that there are LOADS of foods that you can eat without limits depending on which day you are having, so there's always something that you can fill up with if you do get hungry between meals.

    Worth a try, honestly!
I may be shy, but that doesn't make me an angel ;)

I think the key thing is whatever you try you have to stick to it.
In an ideal world we would all like to be whatever we wanted and be thin but it doesnt work like that.
So if you consider yourself to have weak will power then you need to stay focussed on whichever path you choose to lose weight and be motivated by that.
Or just accept yourself at the size you are at.
There is no point trying something for a couple of days and then giving up. If you want to lose weight then do it!

    Hi Skyrocket

lipotrim is only available vis the web-site or certain chemists (listed on their site) oh and some GPs too.
They are basically powders oh and a couple of bars(which i am yet to meet anyone who can face them lol) -you get different ones via the chemist to the web site...if you do the chemist way -you go and get weighed by them every week and buy your new powders...so they can keep an eye on you.

But the key thing with them is that you eat NO FOOD AT ALL..as it impedes the milkshakes... hope that helps..if i cn help anymore please let me know
