  • Well I am back - Have just read through the thread and wanted to add hugs to those that have lost someone close.

Quillion - If your heart is broken tell me, i'll get the glue! If your lost in life call me, i'll come find you ! If your sad please text me, it's my job to make you smile! If your happy let me know and we can celebrate in style! - what a lovely thing to say - it made me cry......

I have had my xray - how can they possibly tell if I have a trapped nerve leading to parathesia in both hands from a side on view from left to right only???? Anyway results wont be in until next week. I think it won't show any thing wrong as I think it is all thyroid related. I made myself clear the dining table (took a full HHC - opps) before stopping for a cup of tea and some more pain killers. I did have to take ungrateful DD into to College as she missed the bus but I was going into town anyway for my xray.

    My list looks like this:
Monday ~ Living room, reception rooms and hallway
    Level One
    Declutter and
    vacuum floors
Wash any soft furnishings and plump pillows and fluff throws
    Level Two
Vacuum under sofa cushions and wipe away any gungy marks from walls and sofas
    Tidy coats, bags and shoes
Put away the clean washing from the sofa (and from around the sofa) (and from the floor in front of the sofa)
    Level Three
    Clear and clean coffee table
    Dust and deweb
    Check smoke alarms
Polish glass and electricals and mantel
    Extras
    1. Wash windows
    2. [STRIKE]Clear and clean dining table [/STRIKE]
    3. De flea and de worm the murdering cat
    4. Catch up on any important phone calls- phone GP to move blood test forward and phone work to speak to manager, phone work to cancel appointments for later in week.
    5. Food shopping
    6. Anniversay declutter mission
    7. Tax return - think that pass word only lasted for 7 days - will need to call re issuing it again but can find financial details so ready to do it when new password arrives.
    8. EMA form for ungrateful DD
    9. Cancel SKY - gave DD an ultimatum that she had to complete her chores (clean bathroom, her bedroom and her washing up but Sunday night or it goes) She watched several hours of catch up tv yesterday but apart from a small load of washing up no chores were done!!)
    10. [STRIKE]X-ray of neck [/STRIKE]
Right 10 more minutes then will do another HHC x 2 and see how I get on - I may need to do one in the kitchen first and then another in the living room.

  • I had a headache all weekend, it had gone this morning but has just come back  I've opened the window and will go and have a soak in the tub in a minute to see if that helps. It's my neck and shoulders, yesterday my neck was so stiff it crackled when i moved and had shooting pains. Not so stiff today just painful. THe bath might help.

Rose - I have been having treatment from a friend who does accupunture and she suggested the following for the long standing headache that I had from Wednesday to this morning. If you follow the base of your skull around that back of your head you can feel a slight dip - one on each side of the spine - but use your thumbs to gentle massage this area. It is likely to feel sore and tender if you have a head ache - I think she said it was because of a blockage in the channel that runs through this area. I have been doing this for a few days and it seems to have helped.

The other area she said can help particularly when the headache first starts in on the hand in the fleshy area between the thumb and index finger. Place thumb of opposite hand against the skin of the other hand between the stretched thumb and index finger. Use the joint the thumb as a guide and then bend it forwards to touch the hand - this is then the right area to massage.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Got a bit carried away on my HHC:rotfl: Have finished the sitting room though:D Will start on the hall after lunch. Does anyone know the best way to clean a fabric light shade, tried a duster but it just makes it worse.

Lampshades, sounds mad, but aren't you supposed to rub it with white bread?! (if its pale coloured, and fabric). N.B. don't butter the bread first!
