Don't want to give you false hope, but like green I thought TCs were only being cut for people on very high incomes (well high to me anyway :rotfl:) I hope I've got that right :o x
Comp I hope you manage to have a nice time for dad's last day at work even if it's rather sad :(

  • No I agree with you hamster :o but I thought they were keeping tax credits for incomes below 50k-maybe I've got that wrong. Also assumed that angelic isn't earning more than 50k a year unless she's keeping it very quiet :p

    Hi all:j
hahaha thanks for that E-E - I WISH I was a bank robber. In fact it's the banks who are the robbers:eek::eek::eek: No the reason I sometimes have what appears to large sums to PAD is that like DT we are self-employed & only get paid now & again:mad: Not having a regular income per month to count on is scary when you have a lot of debt, & we have a massive tax bill coming in Sept so need to put the money elsewhere so I don't have to sell my firstborn to pay it:eek::eek::eek: Sorry it's not a more interesting explanation - I'd much rather plan a bank robbery. Look out for some more big PADs soon if we get paid though:rotfl:

Today's PAD is £300 to Citibank loan & £500 to friend - making a PAD today of £800 please E-E - It was a small branch I robbed last night:rotfl:

I much perferred my explanation :rotfl:

I watched Crimewatch last night (from Sky+) and these people robbed a jewellers by reversing across a busy junction straight through the shop window at 11 in the morning - apparently not many witnesses.
How could anyone miss the noise??

We appear to have lost some PAD'ers :(

13 of the regulars have not posted for at least 5 days!!

Has anyone heard from euronorris - I hope her Ikea units are not playing up!? or do I recall she had a holiday booked??

Please note that if you are not going to be posting for a while can you let me know this month as I have a register and I get worried if there is no PAD!! :rotfl: (Think I should have been a teacher!!)

Sorry guys for not doing my PAD - just so busy at the moment with work and hospital visiting.

Hopefully relative will be out today - the stroke support came round to see him today but then said they don't think he has had a stroke as there is no bleeding on the brain (from the MRI scan) - I would have thought a very mild one would not show anything??
I'm not a doctor so what do I know.

His legs are much better (were very wobbly) and his speech is much better so it all looks good plus they have reduced his medication that he was on for other ailments.

am i the only one who thinks people who can bring in an income of £50k shouldnt actually need any extra money from the government??

i thought it was child tax credits they were changing, ?? time will tell i suppose

For some reason the government decided that anyone earning between 26,000 (ish) and £50,000 can get the basic rate of Child Tax Credit of £545 pa (£10pw). If you have a child under 1 you can earn up to £58,000!!

I can see how someone on £26,000 might need a bit of extra money (to PAD!!!) but at £50,000?!?!

I think it has all been speculation at present regarding any change to this but it's bound to happen soon.

I think the changes announced in the budget are to do with chldcare which is paid via Working Tax Credit because at the moment they spread it throughout the year even if you only have childcare to pay in school holidays which can make it difficult to budget for some.

Also they are going to allow people over 60 who are still in work to claim Working Tax Credit if they work 16 hours instead of the usual 30 hours. I think this is good news for them.

From April 2012 the child element of child tax credit will rise by £4 if you have a child aged one or two. (at the moment you get a baby element until the baby is 1)
