Hey all,
thanks for all the advice and stuff yesterday. I agree with those of you saying I'm being a bit soft on him - but at the time when I sat and worked it out with him he seemed well on board, he could have had everything sorted so quickly if he'd have just stuck to the budget we did!
Maybe we should rebudget and I'll tell him that if he carries on ignoring it then I will have to put the rent back up regardless, because I can't afford not to. He can sort his own debts out then if he's not willing to take my help on board!
My pad for today is £49.01 to A&L please, going to go and add that onto my sig now.
I must must must do some work today so please tell me off if you spot my green light on after 9am! Also if you see me on facebook - but thats unlikely because I'm FED UP with the slowness of Farmville!
Have a good day all

Hi Angelic!
Sorry to hear that work is so horrid at the moment.
I occasionally get it here, but a lot of requests are detailed in emails etc, so I just send them to the relevant person if I'm ever questioned. OH's work is a lot worse though, like yours I think and it drives him crazy cos he doesn't mind taking responsibility for his own work or for anything he messes up, it's just that no one else seems to do that at his place and then there's the heirarchy (sp?)!
I would keep a diary, as you have done, but also perhaps confirm requests from senior members of staff via email (or ask them to confirm their requests via email), before commencing the work, to cover your back a little. I know it isn't always practical, but at least you'd have something written to refer to if challeneged.
You could also sell it to the more senior members of staff by saying something like 'Well, I've noticed recently that there have been a few small misunderstandings about what I, or others, were expected to do. This way, everyone is clear on their responsibilities......'. Well, something along those lines anyway.
I hope that helps.
OH got some of the contract stuff sorted yesterday, and they backed down about reimbursing his commuter travel costs and have therefore agreed to backdate the reimbursement. Luckily for my OH, he held onto over a year's worth of monthly bus tickets and so is now putting in an expense claim for over €1,700!!!!!!!! Bit of a result! lol
So, he's going to buy this remote control helicopter thing he wants and the rest is for our holiday! We just need to agree on when to go now! lol. He decided last night that it would better to go after summer, but I am itching to get away and have a break and the thought of waiting that long, especially when I know I don't have to, is a bit too much.
I still wanna go in early June. Who thinks I can convince the OH too?! lol
Silaquai - I'm sorry to hear your bf hasn't quite taken all the budgeting and debt busting advice on board just yet. I second the others opinion of not helping him so much (financially) in the future. Perhaps sit down with him, show him how to budget etc etc, and let him work out his own plan to get debt free. Show him the snowball calculator etc so he can decide whether he wants to do it asap, or if he would prefer it take a little longer, but then he can still afford to do some more of the fun stuff. Put the responsibility back on him and let him know that, whilst you will support him, it's time he learnt to sort this stuff out himself.
Hopefully that will help. You never know, he may take to it like a duck to water when he's no other options open to him, and then love being in control of his finances! Here's hoping anyway
And I've waffled on, sorry!

Hey Euro, that is fantastic news re the travel reimbursement!! June is nice as it's still fairly cheap, before the summer holidays, and it's lovely and warm everywhere! Hopefully my ebay stuff will sell this time and I can get there before end of the month. If not, I'll definitely be under it next payday.
