Thanks for the advice psycho! I thought ebay would prob be the better deal but really nice to get ideas from somone who's tried it!!
Thanks too 3K2J1D, I had thought that's what I'd do with them originally but the nearest dress exchange place to me is so sniffy about what it will take it seemed a non starter! They wanted last year's only, they have to be correct season which seems fine, but preferably with pic/ad to show this & also have to have a minimum of 3 garments to sell or they won't sell any!! Think maybe there are too many expensive ladies around here as all the clothes in the shop did looked very expensive but I really wouldn't want to wear any of themMy dresses are mostly monsoon/laura ashley orig. price £200-300 so expensive enough to me :rotfl:
I only paid sale prices but even so I think it depressing if I'm only likely to get a few £s for them and want them to turn into PADs!!
Thanks for the advice both of you...Plan 1 will try to find some proper s/h dress shops maybe a bit furthur out...Plan 2 will put more normal stuff on ebay & any dresses that don't get sold elsewhere....SORTED!:T
Now just need to actually do it.........and find camera lead!

Hi Scooby!
I've sold a couple of ball gown/evening dresses on Ebay before and the key is to definitely sell around either a) prom time or b) christmas party time.
I tried at the wrong time once and barely got any bids (thankfully had a reserve on it). But then, tried again around prom time and got close to full price for it!
Good luck!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

Thanks for advice, I'd thought about timing for Christmas...Doh! Hadn't thought about the whole prom thing though despite teaching lots of teenage girls

I'm soo excited! My trip to Germany in May is fast approaching and I've finally got around to booking the car for the trip!
Went with Hertz in the end as they seemed to have the best mix of price and insurance/mileage/excess etc so that we don't get too stung if the worst happens.
Had to pay with CC with them, so will transfer the funds I have in savings for it over with my next monthly transfer. Should also receive my friends half of the car hire cost soon, so can PAD it to the CC.
I want to go now, I want to go now!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Hi everyone -
Guess what - I'm actually going to pad today! A total of £297.76 for the first few days of April please. There won't be much more to come, but every little helps doesn't it!
I've had such a lazy day I feel quite guilty because I haven't achieved anythingI popped out to the shops this morning and bought a couple of food bits, and after that I haven't done anything at all  The only remotely productive thing I've done is make some pastry and the filling for a chicken and mushroom pie, and get a couple of loads of washing through.
I'm just about to go and update my diary and my signature, need to get some working out done. I still need to keep being frugal during April - I currently have £12 in my purse which needs to last me as long as possible - but I need to use some of that for parking on Thursday as I have an eye test.
I have to have a little rant here and I know you'll all understand, feel free to ignore/advise/tell me to shut the hell up as required!
As I said a while back, I lent my bf £600 after he had had his LBM to help clear some debts that were threatening to take him to court. He has others, but that was the most urgent. I took this money from an old student overdraft that I had almost cleared. I lent this to him on the understanding that I took over managing his money, and he told me EVERYTHING about his accounts. I planned it out so that he could be debt free by June, showed him how it would work, explained that he would have to tighten his belt for a few months but also showed him how much 'spare' money he would have once these debts were paid off.
Just recently he had a letter from his bank which said that he was £60 overdrawn again and I'm soooooooo p****d off  I've tried talking to him and explaining that him dragging his feet is costing me money - I've reduced his half of the rent which is why I'm short on pad money - and its also costing me the overdraft fee that I wouldn't be paying anymore. But he just does that typical male (sorry blokes) ostrich impression and gives me one word answers.
He's fantastic in every way except for him being crap with money - but I just want us to be able to do stuff like go away on holiday together, start saving for a house, that sort of thing, and it' not going to happen unless he gets his act together.
I'm really sorry but I've made this post far too long now for anyone to bother reading - congratulations if you made it this far!
xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
Silaqui, you're being a star for helping him out. He probably feels small, stupid & generally a bit of an idiot so he's retreating & being a bit defensive. Let him hide in his cave for awhile, it'll help his state of mind. There will be a point when he emerges (metaphorically) & then you'll be able to talk about it.
In the meantime feel free to moan at us@ LBM = £15,872.65, now £10,819.82AF Jan = 7/? Feb = 5/14 Mar = 14/20 Apr = 6/14 May = 2/14 June 2/14 July 0/TF Aug 1/TFv Sept 6/TF Oct 4/7"NEVER DOUBT YOUR OWN QUALITY"0 -
