Elsie, which ones are they? Egg still charging me interest and late charges on 2 cards and loan, which amount to more than payment to them. Can't believe how short-sighted some of creditors are - don't they realise debt will be paid off sooner if interest frozen. MBNA were one of the first to accept which amazed me as I'd heard they used to be real horrors. Anyway nighty night folks
Lloyds, Clydesdale, Marbles........the usual ones.!

Morning everyone,
Just a quick post this morning. Off to work shortly, but thankfully its Friday. Need to go to the Post office, I did quite well on ebay, sold items for £77, so that will come in handy.
Have a good day guys, see you all later.

Hi Elsie,
Have read quite a lot of your posts. I'm amazed at how you've managed to reduce your debt by half in a couple of years. How the heck have you managed to do this? Shear hard work for sure.
Me and OH are on our DMP now which only started back in December but have an enormous debt to pay off. Some of our creditors have not as yet stopped interest. Capital one and a Barclaycard.
Well done for having achieved to reduce your debt and good luck with the rest.

Thanks for your kind comments, it means a lot. Sometimes the debt gets you down, and its nice to hear someone say just how well we have done. It is hard at times, and there are obviously occasions when you get sick to death of juggling the money, or should I say, the lack of money. But its a means to an end, and the day its all paid off won't come soon enough. :T:T
These boards have been a godsend to me, and there are such inspiring people here, who have been battling the debt for a lot longer than we have. I am sure that there will come a point when you can look back, and see how far you have come. You are doing well already, and its certainly a booster when you start to see the debts reduce.
Good luck, and pop into our thread at anytime.

I'm back
one of my dear clients had a problem so had to drive to Banff to sort out, the joys:eek:
Hope you're feeling better Elsie and well done the Wad, MBNA were good to us too and accepted immediately. Came home to a default notice from rbs:mad: but they "can't" stop interest until they close the account and they can't close the account until they go through their procedures, I was tired and grumpy so pointed out a few home truths
A We own them than they have a moral duty to be fair
B They are penalising us because we had never missed a payment, before we entered DMP.
C We could just have gone bankrupt and they'd have been lucky to get 2/6d back, meanwhile they are going to eventually get it all back.
D What's the point of saying they will try to help when they just go through their own procedures and ignore the letters and phone calls. They tell me that after they finally close the account, they will then:eek: look at the correspondence from CCCS and decide whether or not they will accept the DMP:mad::mad::mad::mad:
A plague on their house and their bonuses and their b@@@@@ procedures!!!

I fully sympathize with you, and I agree totally with the home truths you delivered..!!!:T:T We have had the same problems with almost all of our creditors. The only ones which have stopped interest are Cahoot, Barclayloan, and 1 other...(can't remember who at this moment), We also never missed a payment or even reduced a payment before going on our DMP, and we felt that was the reason that the majority will not reduce or stop interest. As you say, we are paying it all back, and they intend getting every last penny. Perhaps, in hindsight, it would have been better to missed loads of payments, and gone bankrupt,:eek: which was offered to us. It was only our pride and worry about people knowing, that we didn't do it. Besides which we wanted to pay it back, but the bu@@ers don't help do they.?
As you say, thank goodness its Friday, although we have just had our weekly call from Clydesdale, OH spoke to them, and apparently during the conversation they said, we wouldn't want you not to keep paying, otherwise we would have to go down the CCJ route and take us to court!!!! I'd like to see them try, bring it on.!!:mad::mad: We have paid for 25 months £198 and never missed, we now owe them £6000.......'cos they keep adding interest.!! I think they would get laughed out of court.
Ok. Ok.......need to keep calm....blood pressure is rising.....off for a coffee in a darkened room
