Comments

i use a blunt knife and never damaged the iron.0

our iron is currently dripping rust every time I use it, how should i clean it?!
I've had it on heating up and draining out through the holes on a hot temperature, thinking that would clear it, but its still doing it!

I think you can use white vinegar rather than a cleaner bought in a supermarket - will act as a descaler too. I did this once and just poured it in, heated up and pressed the clean button (on the steam control usually) Hope it works.0

Try taking a look at the Laundry section of the Cleaning Collection.
Lots of threads there to give you ideas.

I'm a student (yes - one who owns an iron!) I have at some point irnoned over a transfer/got burn/black marks on my iron plate. Anyone any idea how to get rid of it besides expensive stuff from Lakeland and the likes?
Tried a bit of vineger - not much though as didn't want clothes to smell!!!
Cheers in advance0 -
scrub lightly with a nylon scrubber, works every time for me.0

Rub a cheapy candle up and down on it while it's warm, don't forget to wipe it clean though.0

Can anyone tell me how to?
I've managed to some purple dye on the soleplate - no idea what item of clothing it came from! I've now managed to transfer some of it to one of my dd's t-shirts:rolleyes:
I tried cleaning it with a soapy cloth but it didn't work.0 -
