Do you even know what the OP's disability is? I don't look disabled; but I am. I struggle a lot with steps and have issues with walking around with very little light.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Yes, but I think she meant reserved "in case" people in wheelchairs turned up, as opposed to pre-booked (people in wheelchairs definitely turning up and needing to use them).
But I agree that it isn't clear what they meant from the OP.0 -
The card entitles you to a free ticket for an assisting companion. It does not entitle you to anything else. You do not get to skip queues, you do not get to sit in special seats.
It is bonkers to suggest that every screen should have hundreds of seats set aside only for the card holders.they werent they were just asking to use the disabled seats
but i get your point

Tourettes, Depression, OCD, Eating Disorder and Anxiety I think is the OPs problem. Nothing that I think would mean she needs to sit in one of the 'special' seats.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
I'm kinda disabled myself. Only problem is that it really appears only if I get in a place, where I have to do great amount of exercise. I do have a stick, but I don't count myself as one of disabled yet.
I can walk and tormenting myself with too much walking is just OK, cause I can. Be very happy of your own state, that you don't have a wheelchair. I'm and I think lots of people should be.
I've recently started getting a little better with all the work I've done for it and I must say I'm really thrilled.
:j My point is, that if you can walk, just be very thankful of your state. :j0 -

There is more to being disabled that not being able to walk. Yes, I CAN walk; but standing for too long can cause spasms - these are very painful. Plus walking into things and tripping over everything can be painful - as I discovered when tripping up some stairs a few weeks ago.:(Sealed pot challenge #232. Problem is that those not physically disabled feel totally entitled to use the facilities that are really provided for the physically disabled like wheelchair accessible stuff.
Very difficult when so many people consider themselves disabled these days. When we go to the cinema we always choose the one that offers headphones for my husband and as he gets AA I suppose he could apply for one of these cinema cards but certainly although he is 'disabled' by the standards used on this board he doesn't need a special seat.
But then we see any 'perks' he gets because some of his bits don't work so well as privilges not set in stone rights.0 -

I was looking into getting one; but seeing as I rarely go, it's not worth it at all.Problem is that those not physically disabled feel totally entitled to use the facilities that are really provided for the physically disabled like wheelchair accessible stuff.
I agree. I have a RADAR key; but only use it if my stomach is playing up to the extent where I really need the toilet can can't wait. I have been told "you're disabled; so have every right to use it". Yes true; but I can cope perfectly well in standard toilets. Actually, standard toilets are better because there's less space for me to fall over in.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

The CEA card is for people who need a carer with them, and gets them in for free, it doesn't entitle you to sit in seats reserved for people who use wheelchairs, unless you're in a wheelchair.
I understand that there are many disabilities that mean you don't require a wheelchair, but why sit in a wheelchair seat if you're not in one just because there are no other spaces left?
You need a carer with you, there were no seats left, but if you are not physically disabled, unable to climb steps, or unsafe on steps in the dark, then you have no need to sit in wheelchair seating. Plus, as has been mentioned, these "seats" are normally just spaces that have room for a wheelchair, not actual seats.0 -
Wonder how the OP would have reacted had she been given one of the seats reserved for wheelchair users then turfed out because someone with a REAL need for that seat fetched up? Would she still be complaining about discrimination?
She should have either booked or got there earlier.0
