Just a wee update.
Plucked up the courage today to give them a phone, as i have heard nothing as of yet.
The ( very helpful ) Jean, on the other end of the line informed me that there was a 'letter' issued today, just to say that it was still being investigated, ( probably that damn questionaire lol ).
So, its still ongoing

Thanks for the update Steve
, hopefully its a letter with a decision, and a good one as well, fingers crossed, but if its a questionnaire, do not worry, from there it will not take long, just stand your ground, you will be fine.;)

steve,
it sounds as if you've got this one well in hand, good on you. I also tried to reclaim against the CB and they rejected me after holding on and investigatind for a long time after the 8 weeks. I always thought i'd chase it through but when the claim was rejected I felt totally dejected with it all as I thought it would be succesful, I didn't bother chasing it up with the FOS like so many other people doing exactly as the banks want you to do.
However, Di has helped by confirming what I thought in that those that were rejected are supposed to be having their files reopened or looked at again, Di confirmed the story and I went on to the FSA website to confirm the reports etc, so I've written my letter again and i'm going to send it tomorrow, recorded of course back to the CB asking them to look or re-open my claim, if they reject I'll send it to FOS and FSA.
Basically what I'm trying to say in a long story is don't do what I did, if they reject you, get straight on to the FOS and take it further, figures show that something like 83% of those who took it to them were found in favour of the claimant.
Good luck. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
Hi Smitchy73.
GREAT POST mate thanks.
Got the letter through this morning. It might sound like 'Deja vu' for you, as they have said thats it taking them a lot longer to investigate but they will certainly let me know within another 4 WEEKS !!!!
Was feeling optimistic until i read your post mate LOL !
Certainly enjoy dragging it out dont they ? Sounds like i'll have to go further.
I thought that they only had 40 days total to get these things dealt with ?
Steve
p.s. Still no questionaire0 -

Hi Steve
Hopefully this is a good sign.
So no questionnaire as thought then? lol.
They do normally have 8 weeks in full, but sometimes they do request for more time, this could be because they are still investigating by going through from when this was sold to you and so on, or because of a backlog of these complaints they have, or even both.
I'm sure you will be okay, fingers crossed.;)
