Hi there,

I sent off my letter to the bank last Monday, asking for all my paperwork regarding the loans/top ups that i have ever had with the bank.
They were very quick in doing this and this morning i received documents for some of them.:(
I know for a fact that i have had another two top ups/loans previous to the ones that they have sent me back, ones as far back as 1999 and i def had one in 2003, which weren't included in the response.

What do i do now ? Write them another letter stating this and how do i word it ?

I know for sure that i have had the same account number during all this time.

Kind Regards

Steve:D

    Hi Steve

First of all in regards of requesting for all your info, did you do this as a Subject access Request (SAR) where you enclose a payment of £10 postal order or cheque payment? Where they have 40 days to comply
    Details of letter here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553

However, good that they sent you some info otherwise and the thing is with these requests, they do normally only go back as far as 5/6 years, so where some banks sometimes still hold data going back to earlier years, they may or may not still hold your information going back to even earlier years.

If you still have all the account numbers to each loan, you can still continue to reclaim, so any old statements lying around somewhere, in the loft/basement.;)

    Hiya, thanks for your reply,

I did enclose a postal order to which they sent back and said that they didn't need.
Unfortunatly, i dont have any records on me of said loans/top ups and was relying on them to supply me with these. I do know though that i DID take these policys out and need help on how i can obtain these.

    Hi Steve

That is the annoying thing when they only tend to hold data for the last 6 years.
Saying that with one of mine with LLoyds I did receive most of my info and going back as far as the late 1990's.

You could try requesting a credit report from maybe Equifax etc, but again these are the same and only hold details of info going back as far as 6 years, think I was just lucky, because not all banks do.

Or ring the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) for more details and see what they may suggest. This would be though only office hours though that you can get in touch with these.

Meanwhile maybe someone will have some answers on this one for you with some advice, good luck.;)

    Your very welcome Steve.:A

I would though meanwhile continue with the ones where you have the account details, as they may probably split them anyway, good luck and we look forward to hearing from you.;)

It is up to you, but the ones you have I take it you have the account numbers and as you have your reasons you can if you want to continue to make a reclaim or wait to see if you do receive any further information.;)
The choice is yours of course.

    Geez, i dunno.
One thing that i DID notice is that they all had the same account numbers, lets just say the first 5 or so digits anyways, seperated by a / ....... then more numbers.
I take it that this is because its a continuation of a loan, i.e. top up ?
Im so sorry for all this. Im not very fisacally minded at all.

Di3004, if it was you, what would YOU do ? :D

lol, not a problem, well myself personally.......(just in case they could not retrieve any further information from the earlier years), if this was me I would continue to reclaim with the information I already have.

You should do what you feel is best for you, have a little think about it first and maybe wait for others opinions on this.;)
