You'll probably get more for it on E-bay purely because most Landie owners already have a trolley jack and a Hi-lift and a variety of other jacks. One of the many perks of owning a vehicle which is happiest when in pieces..... however I'm wondering why you're not keeping it. Surely you'll need it when you eventually purchase a Landie of your own.
That is what I said to him. I offered to buy it off him even. He seems to think that I am dreaming about owning a landrover - I will show him (eventually)
Thanks for the advice. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Remind me again why I ever wanted children. They've been obnoxiously whingy all day. Thank god they've gone to bed. Am now debating whether its a tad early in the evening for a quadruple measure of Tia Maria.
Lost the will to live at 35 flea bay listings. Still thats not bad for an afternoon. Have also vac'ed the bits of carpet that I can see upstairs. Wasn't brave enough to enter the lair of the teenage wanabee and its younger sibling. Have fresh sheets on my bed to look forward to although its a bit early to slide between them with a book even by my standards. WOuld only end up being woofed at around 3am by a pooch desperate for the loo.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
35 listings? I think you deserve a quadruple measure of Tia Maria for that - I only managed six all weekend. Ebay bores the t*ts off me, especially as you can't use Turbo Lister for free listing weekends.0

Tis quicker when you're shifting lots of the same thing and only have to tweak the ads a teeny bit. Still soooo unbelievably tedious though.
Am now killing time surfing aimlessly in anticipation of the whingemisters next appearance downstairs to complain about some random thing or other. Shame you can't yell "Oh !!!!!! bog off to bed and bally well stay there" as they're bound to repeat it at school.
Got v. tempted to get the nice people at Ocado to deliver tomorrow and save 20% into the bargain but they only have the 10-11pm cheapskate slot free, besides which forking out £75 cos I'm too lazy to buy milk is taking the pee a little. Just a little mind. Will be braving the village shop tomorrow if I can find some cash somewhere in this place. OH cleared me out on his way to Clogland and since the nice peeps who own the only cashpoint in the immediate vicinity decided to remove it I'm stuck with having to pay 50p for a plastic transaction and a minimum of £15 for the priviledge of doing this. Wonder if I can persuade DD2 to have soya milk on her cereals until I can be arsed to go someowhere with a free cashpoint.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
DD1s wardrobe is crammed with diving gear and guitars although he hasn't used either since way before she was born. Tis most infuriating.
Off to immerse myself in the clutter busting in the hopes of achieving something.
then in a month remind him
and then at the beginning of december:D:D:D:D
then in january he has not excuse to complain:D:D:D or am i just evil?

Also need to figure out how to stop the puppy retrieving things. She worked out how to carry stray chickens around, having cornered them first, and is now wandering around with the cat wedged between her jaws. Judging by the amount of hissing and the rapidly wafting legs the cat is not overly amused by this game but emerges unscathed if a little slobbery when the puppy has taken her to where she thinks she should be. Incidentally this is not usually where the cat wishes to be plonked having been rudely awoken from her sleep.
Was glad i wasn't drinking coffee when I read this, or else i would need a new keyboard. I guess if doesn't hurt the chick or the cat, but am surprised the dog will put up with a hissing ball of claws in its mouth! Perhaps that game will stop when the cat finally lands a paw with claws on the nose!

Nice that a c*ck up by your OH boss works in his favour for once:), sorry i have been MIA but I too had the worlds worst cold/sinusitis for 3 weeks for heavens sake, and then we have had school holidays here. Seems you have to take notice of the kids when they are at home with you all day, who would have thunk it! LOL.
New car looks very good. Glad you got a good price. Sorry to hear about teetering on 20k debt. but on the other hand, you aren't now risking breaking down somewhere with no cell coverage etc, with the old car.I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Sadly the lack of mobile coverage wouldn't be the reason I didn't call out the RAC. T'would be the phone being at home in the fruit bowl which scuppered me. I'm attrociously bad at remembering to take it with me.
Hope you're feeling more human now Chev.
Seemed to get lots done yesterday despite the feeling of having done nothing.
Plans for today involve getting shut of the filing cabinet thats been surplus to requirements since the end of August. Thats being collected today which will allow me to access the bookcases on the landing for another clearout. Finally reaching the dross point of the books where I'm getting a chapter into the stuff I've aquired as freebies because other people thought I might like them. I don't and they're going. I don't need self help books or theological discussions. What I need is really cheesy chick lit and graphically gorey horrors and murders or ridiculously ridiculous things by Mr Pratchet. If it don't make me guffaw out loud or scare the pant off me so that I have nightmares I don't want it thank you very much..... she says and theres no doubt that the unread copy of Faust will still be lurking on the top shelf once I'm done.
Also plan an assault on DD1s wardrobe and on ours in the hopes of finally getting everything on the shelves. Chuck in a few loads of laundry and that should keep me busy for the day.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
yes thanks m2m, my face is the right size again, now i have just got to get the shoulder right (happening) and work out how i hurt my leg....
Just seems being active is a dangerous sport at the moment lol·
Well done on the filing cabinet, i know that has been bugging you for a while!
Interesting about the books. I wouldn't be without my lot, books cost a fortune over here, so i am rereading some, and actually reading some that i haven't read. am reading a book about global warming at the moment, but it keeps on putting me to sleep. Still ...
see you later have a good day

One of the many perks of OHs job is free books. Hundreds of the things. He'll usually bring a box back every couple of months of things he tinks I might like and so we end up inundated. The slush pile of stuff that no one in the office fancies ends up going to charity although I usually make a point of visiting him at work just to nosey through this pile before it departs. Means I end up with loads to read some of which sound better on the cover than they are in reality. Never seem to end up with Terry Pratchets though.... perhaps the septic tanks don't like him.
Meanwhile a mere £10 and a penny later I have milk and butter and 3kg of pasta, several hundred bun cases, apples and two giant bags onf bacon crisps although having scoffed one already I guess technically thats only one. Whats a few hundred calories between friends?
First load of laundry is on the line. Need to do another half dozen in the hopes of locating the bathroom floor. Off to tackle the delights of DD1s wardrobe having first tackled her floordrobe. How do children manage to be so untidy?Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
