Further financial faux pas and even more disasterous decisions

Morning all. Tis gloriously sunny outside which always makes things seem more positive. Spent most of yesterday afternoon lounging around in the garden eating ice cream and reading books whilst keeping a v. close eye on DD2s accident prone friend. Managed to get two loads of washing done, fill a wheelie bin with garden waste and vacuum. Even remembered to go back to work to clear up after holiday club but despite leaving this until 8pm the porta cabin in question was still like a sweatbox.
Planning to spend today painting fences and benches at school in the hopes of being out of there by lunchtime having racked up lots of hours.
Have a £5 off £25 of cleaning stuff for use at Mr Ts by the 6th. Need bits and pieces but not that mnay bits and pieces. Will have a shuffle round to see what can be stashed befopre I get carried away.
OH is behaving rather oddly. Even more oddly than normal. Keep being asked where I'm sleeping like I'll suddenly change my mind and decide to revert to things as they were before I voiced my opinions. Am sleeping so much better for knowing that once the door is shut for the night nothing and no one will disturb me for none essential reasons. On the bright side OH is being much more civil than normal although we're not exactly having monumentous conversations. Having a hard time figuring out whats going on in his head though. Its almost like if he plays along with me for a few days everything will be hunky dory. Have to admit to feeling childishly petty at the mo. I've had enough of clearing up after him. I've done it for a decade but really don't see why I should trawl the house looking for his used cups, glasses, plates, dirty socks, empty cans and cast off whatever it was that he finished with so plonked down and abandoned. If its in the kitchen I'll wash it and the same with the contents of the laundry basket but the rest of it is staying put until he gets the idea. Stupid I know but its annoyed me for so long its untrue. Perhaps he'll get the idea eventually. Probably not.
Released the new hens from the confines of their enclosure yesterday with minimal hassle. Hoping I can get the next batch moved in over the weekend. I know. These aren't the actions of someone who's moving on, but I'm not putting life on hold for months whilst I figure out whats going on. Thats not fair on the DDs. As far as they are concerned life goes on as normal. Whatever normal is.
As for cunning plans for the chickens.... well in desperation there are enough out there to keep us in meat for six months averaging one a week... with a rolling population I guess it would be possible to rear sufficient to live on chicken and eggs for quite some time. Egg sales cover the cost of feed so they're not really costing anything to keep and we get more than enough eggs to eat and share with the neighbours in return for pet sitting services when we're not here.
Ordered the vouchers to pay for ferry tickets last night for OHs trip to see his mother. Shes expecting us all to go. Will deal with that one much nearer the time. Finally cashed out of a survey site gaining a £16 Amazon voucher which will be used to purchase a new fitted sheet for DD2s very strangely sized bed.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
I'm really sorry that this has all reared up again, moo. As everyone else said we all think the world of you and want whats best for you and your dd's.
Just a thought, why do you have to leave the house? Can't he go? I think that you might qualify for half an hours solicitors advice foc, might be worth seeing where you stand.0 -
Tis the start of a 3 day weekend and the weather is so fab we're heading to the beach this afternoon to ride our bikes along the promenade. Leaving the hairballs at home as the dog ban is in force until October so theres no where that they are allowed to go outside the confines of the carpark. Would be too hot for the four legged fiend anyway.
Hopefully will be able to collect the next four hens today which gives me the headache of doing something with a humungous !!!!. Snigger away.
Planted DD2s cucumber and courgette plants last night. Need to start again with her runner beans though as only two plants have germinated and one of those is very deformed. Mind you the seeds in question were positively geriatric. Will plant the pea seeds whilst we're at it. They won't matter too much for being left so late.
Finally found the bottom of the laundry basket so will make a start on the beds today.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Morning all! I'm positively glowing today. Unfortunately I mean that literally. Despite wearing Factor 25 sun tan lotion I'm still rather beetroot on one side of my face. Had a fab time. Covered roughly 10 miles mostly at a jog to keep up with the DDs. DD2 was exhausted and slept allt he way home which is always the sign of a good day out.
Managed a bit of housework, not intentionally, but the four legged fiend decided to up end her water bowl in the middle of the floor. Ended up mopping the kitchen. At least thats one less thing to do today. Instead I'll be covering the gates with mesh after the hairball in question demonstrated the art of slithering through them in order to chase the cat down the road. Attempting to catch a very determined dog whilst in bare feet wearing only PJs is not particularly easy, especially when you're rather lacking in the obligatory sports bra. Tis days like this when you realise just how saggy your boobs are.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Hi Moo
I think you need to write a book - not that you have time.
The 'adventures' you have would be great to read!!
I picked up a magazine from the vets and they did a rather large article on Newfoundlands. As you know I really want one and just reading the article had me in stitches.
Namely the bits about them always thinking you need rescuing so may jump in the bath and any puddles are to be walked through but preferably rolled through!!
I know you have issues with the puppy in the pond so I guess it's true! But has he ever jumped in the bath with you?

Not yet. Puppy is banished from the upper regions of the house.
Take today as an example. Got up. Rescued puppy from road. Made coffee. Spotted puppy drinking out of pond. Heard splash. Towelled off puppy. DD2 materialises and disappears outdoors to water her plants. Puppy gravitates from drinking water out of watering can to paddling at base of plant then rolling over. Much screeching heard. DD2 settled for watering puppy. Its much less damaging. Enter kitchen. Note at this point its not yet 9am. Mop up puddle caused by puppy leaping in and out of a 4" square water bowl guaranteed to prevent splillages. Puppy shut in for three hours to preserve my sanity. Returned from rifding lesson. Opened back door. Watched helplessly as puppy went to drink out of pond then waterfall. Taking shortcut back to house across pond. Puppy towelled off again.
Various other incidents included the trapping of puppys head under the self closing toilet lid as she attempted to drink the flushing water.... drenching with the hose... drinkingof the chicken water from the chicken drinker... and another quick splosh in the pond. The only good thing is she dries off very quickly.
Have spent a small fortune on her today buying chewable things in the hopes of having some furniture left if she makes it as far as her first birthday. A one metre long dried dead something or other lasted 20 sodding minutes. Have given in and forked out £8.09 for an "indestructible" nylabone.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Mentally preparing myself for one of "those" days. It started yesterday when OH went to bed at 6:30pm waking up at 9pm to watch tv until the wee small hours. Turns out he doesn't fancy go shooting with DD1 today. I bet if a Sunday morning football mum offered up that phrase at breakfast time war would break out. Parents don't get to opt out of their offsprings regular activities no matter how much they'd prefer to be doing something else.
Have to remember to go to work today as I forgot to go on Friday night and couldn't be bothered yesterday. If holiday club isn't cleaned by 8am tomorrow my life won't be worth living.
Planning to survive today on a cloud of serenity and positive thought otherwise I'm likely to kill.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
