Oh Moo, I'm so happy for you. My fingers are tightly crossed that all this happiness and positive thinking that you are sending out will draw even more of it back to you and to your whole family! You entertain so very many people with your diary and I'm sure there are hundreds of people out there in the ether who are, like me, jumping up and down with joy for you too! Maybe your next diary won't contain the word disastrous in it's title! Whoopee!!!!

    Thank you all!

Had another mini blip yesterday when things went a wee bit awray. We splurged on a portable theatre at the beginning of the week because life as we know it wasn't complete without it or at least that was the sales pitch OH used when he persuaded me we really needed it. It arrived and promptly crashed the PC giving OH hours of fun working out why and restabalising the thing. Random PC crashes are nothing new but ones that freeze everything are.

Anyhow being a very clever chap he worked out precisely what had caused the thing to crash and so to prove this he did the same exact sequence of actions (in this case drag and dropping files rather than sending to... the girlie in me switched off at this point) and hey presto PC froze crashing everything and convincing the new gadget to curl up and die. Gadget is being returned from whence it came v. shortly. Normally OH would really lose it at something like this but we had minimal swearing and although vino factored it was only half a bottle. I know "only" makes me laugh. I guess to the rest of the world thats a lot. His his current choice of poison is pink vino which hes buying because he doesn't like the taste and so doesn't really want to drink it.

OH got sent home early and has been told to stay in bed until 7am today awaiting a phonecall from work. Looking at the news though hes going to be home all day as all UK airspace is shut again until after his shift ends. Still its one less day for him to get stressed over the whole being at work thing since he won't be there again until Tuesday.

Managed to get loads done yesterday although not quite what I was planning. Discovered one of the leser used cupboards on a Northerly external wall had patches of mould as did the curtains stored in there. Managed to salvage the curtains and the DDs old school photos but chucked an awful lot else. Found 3 more litres of bubble bath and a couple of other things I'd forgotten about. Shuffled stuff about a bit and have bleached the interior of the cupboad and repacked it with things which can't be damaged by future outbreaks sealed in plastic just in case. Tidied the master bedroom and changed the bedding in their. Threw out one solitary vhs video. Must try harder. Hall, stairs and landing are marginally cleaner although the walls need washing as there are small mud coloured handprints strategically placed on door frames and the entire length of the stairs.

Dug out a sleeping bag for DD1s trip and attempted to put it in her room but couldn't get the door to open wide enough to get inthere. She spent the evening tidying - its amazing what the threat of being the only child on the trip not to have any money can do as an incentive. Beig an evil peron I told her I was going to inspect the inside of her wardrobe tonight. Judging by the face she pulled shes merely chucked everything from the floor into the wardrobe and shut the doors which is precisely what I used to do as a brat which is marginally better than DD2 who has been caught placing folded ironed t-shirts in the laundry rather than put them away.

Have to repair a door at school today after a teacher tripped and landed against it smashing the securing bolt through the frame. Expect sehes very badly bruised today and judging by the damage to the door very lucky not to have broken her collar bone.

I've had a payrise. Whoop Whoop. Am assuming its an annual cost of living increase because theres no other sensible explaination, other than the boss realising just how unique I am and paying me accordingly, however since its a paltry 1.5% I'm assuming its the former. Still 1.5% is far better than a pay freeze.

Went out for lunch with OH for the second time in a week and had the nicest chip butty ever. I'm a v. cheap date :) Exchanged his faulty gadget for one that works and managed to detour via a ginat camping shop so that Oh could buy yet another pari of hinking style trainers taking him to six pairs of assorted outdoor type shoes. For a fella who does negligable exercise thats rather impressive. Not so impressive was his later purchase of a laptop bag with a compartment for overnight stays. Why take two bags in the worlds biggest estate car when you can take one chuffing expensive one on wheels? Sometimes I wonder if we're resident on the same planet. Currently we own more laptop bags than laptops and I have no plans to change this.

Left work much later than planned last night thanks to an unexpected violation of my personal space by a small brown mouse. My office might only be 6' x 4' but you can get a heck of a lot of baited mousetraps into it. In fact every mousetrap that school owns is now primed and ready and the door firmly shut to encourage them to enjoy their last meals. If I'm really lucky my boss (who's due at school this morning) will take note of the many A4 posters attached along his entry route and dispose of any corpses without standing on the traps. Have also suggested he purchases a v. large can of expanding foam so I can block up the hole that they're using to get into the building.

Having had a v. expensive day yesterday I'm planning on minimalistic spends today. OH went to Mr Ts for loo roll but managed to be persuaded by DD1 that travel sized shampoos at £1 per 50ml were essential for her school trip. Sadly they forgot the other things on the list which really are essential like the dairy free marg and desserts that DD1 has to take with her so as to avoid starvation. Will need to pop into Mr Ts but am not going to be talked into anything we don't absolutely need.

Still randomly tidying the house but its like wading through mud. As fast as I tidy one room another two get trashed. OH seems to be the biggest culprit. He appears to have left at least one pair of shoes in each room of the house. If I move a pair thats guaranteed to be the ones he wants to wear. Even the DDs are tidier than him at the mo.

Need to start tracking down and labelling everything DD1 is taking on her trip as the drying room sounds like a potential disaster when its shared by 150 children from 5 schools.

    Hi Moo

Good to see that things with OH are improving!! I think the problem is when things are bad they are really bad but when they are good they are really good - what we need is a happy medium at all times!!

As mentioned previously DH cleared out the cat litter trays and moved the 2 week old bin bag he had previously cleaned out and proceeded to put the new bin bag outside the back door!
Well yesterday I noticed that it had gone so either someone has stolen it or DH put it in the bin!!! Yes we are getting there.

Next on the list is those flaming jeans which are still hanging around the utility room - housework day today so will not move them for him!!

Hope you have a good weekend.

Its been a rather manic jam packed weekend. Seem to have spent most of it chaufeuring the DDs to and from birthday parties and various activities. DD2 scared the pants off me jumping over her first high fence on horse back. It might only have bee 18" high but that was enough to turn me into a gibbering wreck. Fortunately she didn't perform any ariel acrobatics.

Went to the flicks on Saturday night and saw the truly awesome How to Train Your Dragon (thanks FF). Enjoyed it far more than anything else I've seen in ages. Made the mistake of watching Hot Tub Time Machine last night. So unbelievably bad that its untrue. There are only so many hairy flabby naked zitty butts belonging to 40 somethings with middle age spread that a gal can stand and I've usually had my fill by 8am. A film full of them is simply not appealing.

Then finally DD1 completed the last of this seasons shoots putting her in fourth place again. I surprised everyone with my amazing astounding talents and had the lowest score of the adult (and most of the juniors) much to DD1s disgust. Apparently no one can suck so much. Apart from me that is.

12 hours to go until we collect the puppy. Don't think thats anywhere near long enough to do all the things I need to do though. I'm not panicking. not yet anyway.

Seem to have haemorrhaged money all weeked. need to sit down and work out just how much we've gone through. It won't be pretty.

    Confession time:

Tuesday - £25.72 animal feed and riding gloves to replace the ones DD1 lost + £12.10 lunch for two

    Weds- £65 DD1 school trip

Friday - £60 OH trainers + £5.60 lunch for two + £50 (ish) OH and DDs unsupervised in Tesco

    Sat - £20 horse riding + £32.66 puppy food + £40.76 Asda

    Sun - £25 shooting and lunch out for 4 + £1.50 DD2 school trip

and I have the puppy to pay for tonight.

Used up some v. ripe bananas to make muffins for the DDs lunchboxes. Seems a drop in the ocean compared to what we've spent so far this week. Guess the only upside is that whilst OHs work is shut hes not spending £60 a week on fuel. Hopefully that won't last much beyond Thursday. Hes due to fly on Saturday morning but thats looking wildly optomistic at the mo.
